Re: Monsters University
I arrived at 9.30am and saw a massive queue which seems to be moving quite rapidly, so rather than wheel mum to the end I thought I wait a little and join the end, but soon realise the end was a long way away so thought better of it and started to wheel my mum towards the end, but halfway lovely Rainey called out to me and saved me going to the end, thanks Rainey
It was lovely to meet up with ritamistry, say hi to a_person, ejwrank, david and tsoiboy.
Since there were no lifts to the Circle, we were told to go straight ahead. The cinema was packed and a family of three was late and came in five minutes after it started, but sat in single seats quickly next to me, behind me and a few rows in front, one adult and two kids, without fuss and too much disturbance.
The film was lovely and cute but was not as good as the last one, and I did nod off a few times! 7/10

Re: Monsters University
So that's why they weren't at LEicester Square! I wish I hadn't hinted to Lexx there might be fun and games going on, he was pretty disappointedchelle1973 wrote:I have a sore head caused by all the screaming kids! I knew this screening was gonna be special when i was handed my super-duper 3D glasses!! We had Mike & Sully at our screening, kids were able to get their pictures taken with them, exciting stuff! Once everyone was seated a woman came on stage, said a few words and then introduced Scott Clark, the supervising animator, he spoke a little about how great it was working on the film. Also said we were the only ones in the uk to see the film this early..obviously unaware of a screening in London this morning too! And then he introduced Mike & Sully...so they both came in dancing along to music and the kids went wild...again! lol.
I thought the film was brilliant, sooo colourful & bright! I gave it 9/10 but my kids give it 10/10...we also stayed for the wee snippet after the credits rolled, found that bit quite funny!
The kids also got a free teeny tiny tub of ice-cream...no fair!!

Re: Monsters University
I love the original Monsters Inc but this did not even come close to recreating the magic of that film. It was reasonably entertaining for what it was, and I liked the throwbacks to the first film but it just felt OK overall but not great. It was far too long and could easily have been trimmed for a shorter ruinning time. It was not as funny or clever as the first one and not sure the 3D added too much to the animation. It looks great with all the different monsters in the same frame but I left feeling slightly disappointed. 6.5/10.

Re: Monsters University
I think I must've watched a completely different movie from everyone else here. I loved this to pieces; it was funny (the new additions from OK were hilarious, especially Art "I want to touch them!!"), sweet and very colourful. Heck I even cracked up as soon as Johnny opened his voice as I was trying to find a likeness between Nathan Fillian (the voice actor) and the character as drawn in the movie. I never really loved the first Monsters film (I didn't hate it, but when I saw it on TV I thought it was just okay) and thought this new addition was a vast improvement (though I'll probably enjoy the original more now having seen this one). One of my favourites so far this year. 10/10
Also, I LOVED kiddie!Mike I really want a whole film with him!

Re: Monsters University
Enjoyed seeing this for a second time. Great getting a chance to appreciate all the detail that I missed first time round. Which included spotting the Pizza Planet Truck.
For those interested it's parked outside the Roar Omega Roar fraternity house when Mike is chasing after the pig
Minus points to the person involved with Timesplus though who thought it would be a good idea to show a five minute advert for the 'Talks' events before the film. A cinema full of kids, some of them having been there for an hour, are made to watch several boring adults talking about subjects they have no interest in, when they just want to watch the film. I don't see why they didn't just start showing that at 10.25, then the film could have started on time.
