Re: Jack the Giant Slayer
What an entertaining film - was also at the O2 and queued for the best part of an hour, so was very surprised that there was little delay in the film actually starting Really enjoyed it though - once again, not overly impressed with the 3D (I wish they would just STOP THAT, NOW!!!) - but the film ...

Re: The Croods
Saw it at the O2 Sky Screening
Wasn't expecting much as the reviews have been a bit lukewarm, but to be honest, I quite enjoyed it.
Having seen Oz the week before, I would say I preferred Oz, but for a family film, it was enjoyable, entertaining, and didn't outstay it's welcome
6.5/10 from me

Re: The Paperboy
I would agree with The Sparrow and martadelas Saw it today the The Ritzy and found it quite a compelling watch, but unsure why. My thoughts are that the direction was a bit incoherent at times and the narrative hard to follow and the film felt a bit undisciplined, especially the middle third - but I ...

Re: Mama
saw this one at Wimbledon - pretty busy cinema but there were some seats still available. Enjoyed the first third of it and thought the premise was interesting enough and the girls' acting was good........by the middle chunk, I was unsure where the film might be straying and it started to niggle me ...

Re: Django Unchained
Really wanted to enjoy this, and did to a certain degree, but my, it really felt loooooooooong Loved the performances by Waltz, Jackson and DiCaprio and the 'bag heads' scene was absolutely brilliant...but the final half hour or so really did seem to run out of ideas and lose it's way As for Mr ...

Saw this at the Curzon Mayfair last night (very warm room).......a bright and breezy film that was well played and interestingly put together I thought Not the most engrossing film I have seen so far in 2013, but I found it enjoyable all the same Well cast, well written......a good 98mins in the ...

Re: We Need To Talk About Kevin
what a remarkable film Agree with the previous reviews - a chilling, powerful film which scarily feels all too possible within the real world (which makes it even more scary) Excellent performances across the board, but loved Tilda Swinton (as always) and the younger Kevin - not sure how old he was ...

Ah right, well thats good to know.....probably didnt miss anything then.
Will also keep that in mind for next year when making my bookings.....always assumed the earlier showing was the best one to go for...when the difference in times is so small, maybe I will ty for the later ones instead.
Cheers

I was at the lff screening too and agree with your review of the film kevinknapman. Wish id known about the q&a though, left to catch a train as the credits rolled....would have loved to have gotten more of an insight into this film and happily got a later service home. We were at the 8:15 showing ...

Re: Drive
WOW...that was quite a ride of a movie - started relatively laid back and built to one heck of an energy rush - really enjoyed it. There really does seem to be more violence creeping into films these days - been a while since I saw one rated 18 in the cinema (and for good reason I guess). also, Ryan ...
