Re: Bridge of Spies

Tom Hanks always delivers so no surprise there but despite it being a smaller part Mark Rylance was excellent--mind you everyone was good-I especially liked the episode where the son tells his father how to survive a nuclear explosion should also mention the excellent filming of the various ...

Re: Belle

this was a really fascinating story of the manners of that era woven into an important legal story. The acting was great-no weakness anywhere, but don't think it will be commercial success.

Re: The Book Thief

This film was like a beautiful melody with not a wrong note, excellent cinematography, sensitive acting-considering it was set in Germany in the Nazi era it caught what it was like to be a real human being caught up in a time of unspeakable inhumanity perfectly-I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Re: Silver Linings Playbook

found the subject matter of bipolarity a bit heavy going. so for me the film took a long time to get going: but very well acted and the emergence of the characters into something like normality was really well done if a tad unbelievable

Re: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

they took a very unlikely plot and turned it into a very enjoyable film.cinematography and acting were of a very high standard. sentiment and comedy were well mixed agree comments on Kristen Scott Thomas
but her's was only a cameo role which kept the story moving forward.

Re: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Rarely has such a galaxy of acting talent been assembled-unfortunately there was not enough space for the characters to develop completely. What we got was a series of perfectly played cameos,it was a very interesting but not entirely satisfying experience.

Re: 50/50

cinema for 50/50 was full and I enjoyed the film--odd to say enjoy considering the subject-
it was very well acted but for me I did not want an outcome-the film could have ended with the operation as this was the end of his journey with the illness as a curable condition.

Re: Cowboys and Aliens

I thought it was enjoyable hokum even if the aliens seemed to be violent and not very smart
don't know how they managed space travel.
Harrison did his Indiana Jones thing and Daniel Craig gave a decent performance although neither had the
personality of a Clint Eastwood or a John Wayne
