Re: Shame

Saw this in Wimbledon on Tuesday. I found it compelling and very sad with excellent performances. I have two brothers and if they walked in when I was in the shower I'd physically and verbally throw them out and I'm sure they'd run out anyway! Surely the fact that didn't happen showed what a f**ked ...

Re: The Ides of March

Was up in Leicester Sq tonight to watch a film courtesy of Orange Wednesday and got caught up with the premiere. Needless to say we decided to stay and get a glimpse of Mr Clooney rather than see One Day. Probably a better option as also saw Evan Rachel Wood and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Just got home ...

Re: Hanna

I saw Hanna last night at Croydon Grants. Haven't been to a preview there for a while and was surprised to see the cinema full. My son loved the action and Tom Hollander as the over-the-top baddie with the wardrobe full of stylish tracksuits and white shorts, even to the extent his new catchphrase ...

Re: Water For Elephants

Took my 13 year old son to see this at Wimbledon. Unfortunately not a free preview after drink, sweets and popcorn! Was looking forward to seeing it as a fan of nostalgic love stories, such as English Patient and Cold Mountain. Good performances from all, but an especially temple smashing one from ...

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread

Managed to get seats in the Second Circle, but still had an excellent view. There were rows of empty seats for some reason. We were unlucky enough to sit in front of a woman who kept jabbering on. Found it ironic when she laughed like a banshee at the mobile phone gag. We also joined the mass exodus ...

Re: Rio

Saw this in Empire Leicester Square this morning. Slightly disappointed as was expecting the lovely screen 1. Cute, but nothing special. Did like Nigel the villains song though. There was a nice moment after Linda told Blue she never broke a promise and a little voice in the audience piped up "Oh ...

Re: The Next Three Days

Just got back from Croydon Grants. Only 6 people in the cinema. They obviously check the weather forecast as there were few trains and no buses running after we came out! Thought the film was gripping and as usual some great acting by Russell Crowe. Was worth the anxious journey home.

Re: Charlie St. Cloud

Just saw this in Croydon. The audience was 99% female (no surprise there). Must agree with Tilly that it was pretty boring. Lovely scenery but not a lot else....

Re: Grown Ups

Must admit I have a puerile sense of humour but this film was pretty poor. However my 12 year old son gave it a big thumbs up. Maybe that says it all!
