Fundraising campaign for Film Stories Junior
I thought some forumites might be interested in this kickstarter campaign for a new film magazine called Film Stories Junior for under-15 year olds..... It's by the same people who produce the subscription-only film magazine Film Stories. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/814183117/film-stories ...

Re: First Man
I saw it on IMAX with a voucher and was blown away. The space sequences and training ordeals were astonishing. I loved the fact that it was a character study about someone who was fiercely private and buttoned-up. I know a lot about the Gemini/Apollo space programme already so I didn't need another ...

Re: Beauty and the Beast 2017
I haven't seen this film yet (though I am looking forward to it very much) so I was reading the reviews here. Without wishing to offend anyone, I have to say I was troubled by this comment... [quote="McG"] I have heard some discussion about Disney having introduced a"'gay character" into the film ...

Re: Lion
I thought this was incredibly moving, and knowing that it was a true story really added to the emotional experience. I liked the fact that there was very little dialogue at the beginning and it was all about the atmosphere and the visuals. I'm glad the film didn't try to ramp up the tension of a ...

Re: Steve Jobs
Oh - it was Kate Winslett! Doh! Saw this at the Telegraph preview at Millbank. It was packed. The two hours seemed to fly by. I thought this was utterly absorbing, and it just shouldn't be, but it is. I thought the device of using the product launches was a really engaging alternative to a standard ...

Re: Miss You Already
Saw this at the weekend to make the most of my Vue/Nectar tickets before they expire tomorrow. I had seen Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette on the Alan Carr show the week before, so I thought I knew a bit about this film. Turns out I totally underestimated how depressed it would make me! I did ...

Re: The Martian
Saw this at the 18:15 screening at Tottenham Court Road last night (thanks so much bevvy for the tickets). Really glad to be at the earlier screening. The screening was totally full and they could have used a much bigger screen and been able to fill it no problem. Surprised it was a 3D showing, and ...
