Free Recipe Booklet

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) advise that bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and other starchy foods should make up about a third of the food we eat - choosing wholegrain varieties when we can as wholegrain food contains more fibre and often more of other nutrients. We also digest wholegrain food more slowly so it can help us feel full for longer.

National Diet & Nutrition Surveys suggest that most of us don't eat enough wholegrains, with almost a third of us eating none at all - so we think it's important to share with you new and exciting ways to include wholegrains in the diet.

The free Wholegrain Goodness recipe booklet shows just how versatile wholegrains can be.

The booklet has a delicious selection of easy family recipes including: Cocoa & Vanilla Smoothie, Spaghetti Fish Supper, Fat-Free Fruit Loaf and Apple Brown Betty.

Just call 0845 245 0009 or email hgca@cambertown.com and quote WG0910 instructing the number of copies required and the delivery address.

Free Eye Test for an Adult and Child

Book in a child for a free NHS eye test at Vision Express and get a free eye test for an adult. Just fill in your details to request your voucher, and take it into store.

At Vision Express we'll see both you and your children right, with an enjoyable and comfortable eye test experience for your children, and a free eye test for you.

At Vision Express, we treat children differently. We know that having an eye test for the first time can be a bit daunting for younger children, and we want to make the experience more enjoyable for them and their parents. As such we have a new Kids Zone, as well a new member of staff in every store – Tiberias the Teddy Bear, who is around to help reassure children that they're in good hands!

Simply request your voucher below, and take it into store. To make things even easier, you can also book your appointment online.

Free Tram Travel To Put Croydon Back In Business

There’s free travel on the Croydon tram network this weekend – 20 and 21 August – and free or discounted parking around the town centre to encourage shoppers back.

Croydon was badly damaged by riots. The image of House of Reeves furniture store at Reeves Corner burning down was a depressing staple of rolling news the night of Monday 8 August. Flickr friend McTumshie had to walk to work through the centre of Croydon the morning after as overhead tram wires had been damaged. Have a look at his photos of the aftermath.

TfL have taken the opportunity to remind Croydon that six new air conditioned trams are on their way to Tramlink for early next year. Retailers are also punting special offers to lure the community back with discounts and free play and face painting for kids.

Local football club Crystal Palace have also pledged to distribute one thousand free tickets to families affected by riot damage and the emergency services who attended the scene, to the match against Blackpool on 27 August.
