I thought he was excellent in that role. He really committed to the part and lost all that weight in preparation. Melissa Leo (the mother) was also deserving of the best supporting actress Oscar.

I see what you mean, Funs. I thought he was very hammy with all that mugging and stuff he did. Although he was accurate to the character, it was not a subtle role that demands quality acting. I dont think it deserves an Oscar, which should be reserved for the pinnacle of acting ability, think Streepsque, with difficult roles delivered well.

I totally agree about Big Mel and Amy, they were spot on.

anyway, I saw you the other night at ROA with AP while waiting at the door!
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I went to see 30 minutes or less. It wasn't bad, but I definitely preferred Horrible Bosses. There were some great characters in it though and I liked the ending : )
Not vital to see at the cinema, so maybe wait for the DVD to come out.

I watched Dr Who........why? I am really bored with this series - it's flat. OH loves it of course, so will have to put up with it, or I could bake a Christmas cake....

I told you earlier I was in a Ryan Goslin mood :D
I really think he is one of the best actor of his generation ;) (and he is pretty handsome as well!)

We've been catching up on our sky+ from being away on hols.

We watched the second episode of Dangerous Road on BBC. The first was Alaska and the road which the Ice Truckers use..... OMG that was scary enough but the second was on the road through Nepal from India to what was Tibet. They were travelling in monsoon season and at one stage the road was just collapsing underneath them!!

Also watched the first episode of the new Doc Martin series... you cant help but like it :)
