I was at Shepherds Bush too with my oh and my brother. Thankfully, we made it on time to the screening, although we left home late (thanks to my brother!) and had to walk all the way to the tube station at a very fast pace because buses weren't running.

My oh and I really enjoyed the film, and we didn't see the twist coming. Some scenes were very funny, and the cast was great. I don't know why but I really like Steve Carell. 8/10

I was at Leeds this morning. Very much enjoyed the film. I thought it was really good, surprisingly. :)
No technical glitches at our cinema, so all went well. Theatre was quite full so that's good.
I enjoyed all the actors (shout-out to Annaleigh from ANTM :P), especially Ryan, who I would watch in any film. And no not because of his body, but because I really enjoy his work in anything he does and I've been a fan since 1997, to be exact.
I really enjoyed the "love/soulmate" theme and found it nice in a warm fuzzy way, and not really cheesy at all. Maybe that's because I'm in a "love" situation myself at the moment so I can relate and stomach that stuff more than I usually would...
Anyway, I'd recommend this to anyone interested. Or not interested. As I don't think the trailers made the movie look as good is it was.

I was at The Lowry and really enjoyed this, I think that Julianne Moore is a brilliant actress and Ryan Gosling makes pleasant viewing. Good chemistry between all the actors and it was a true rom com which is perfect for a Sunday morning, I would agree that it was a tad too long. 7/10

opas wrote:Valda, have you ever seen The Notebook? I was never that keen on Ryan Gosling as I first remember seeing him in Murder by Numbers where he was a very unlikeable character you could never find attractive. However I recently saw The Notebook (about 5 years late!) and now CSL. He has definitely won me round and can see why some people think he is a big deal!
I was looking at that, trying to decide which DVD to b*y, I'm still not decided

Well, I thought Ryan Gosling was superb in Blue Valentine, but then I remember not many people liked this film.

I enjoyed CSL at Shepherd's Bush today. For a moment I feared it was going to be another fiasco screening marred by technical glitches, but luckily it was quickly sorted. CSL had its funny moments and the twist is certainly unexpected but results in perfect comic timing. I quite like Steve Carell and thought the Carell/ Gosling pair up worked very well in the film.

Saw this film last Thursday at Greenwich Odeon.

What can I say. I loved it. I thought the cast was excellent and there were a few twists which surprised me. Also a few belly laughs at the same time. My favourite bit was the cliche "rain." The film reminded me of "Little Miss Sunshine" which Steve Carell was also in. The pace was great and no real dull moments and definitely not too schmaltzy.

Went to Swansea to see CSL and the cinema was pretty full considering the downpouring of rain.

I did think it was going to be another American run of the mill rom com - but was pleasently surprised. The dialogue was better than most I've seen this year(in the same genre) and there did seen to be a flow to it. I too liked the cliched bit with the rain. I thought the boy , name escapes me will edit later, was very good, his longing for his soulmate made me smile.

Thanks Tsoiby, I wondered where I'd seen Steve Carell before. Loved Little miss sunshine.

Anyway back to the film, will give it 7.5/10, couldn't give an 8 as OH did not like it - too sloppy and unbelievable. He should listen to some of the stories students tell me!!
