Or, alternatively, you should try porridge oats (as a cereal not made into traditional porrdige) with fruit and yoghurt.

The reason either of these breakfasts are so good is that it takes longer for your body to break them down and so means you feel full for longer.

i think you have to have some calcuim/fat in your diet to lose weight...so as long as its one slice i cant see it doing any harm!
Adults don't really need very much calcium and most people get plenty from tea etc. As for fat it's also usually well represented in the other meals during the day.

Pretty sure. We need a lot of calcium when we're developing but as we grow older we need a lot less

I've got my first meeting tonight....quite nervous about it all.

I've been really good all week and managed to lose 2 lbs by myself. I know this wont be shown on my weightwatchers card but I thought if I'd made a start it would help a little. But was also scared that if I didnt then I might eat everything in sight knowing I was starting a diet!

That's a really good start, BettyBoop - it shows you can do it, and if you can do that much on your own, you might do even better with the group. But the important thing is to go slowly and steadily in the right direction.

Well done BB!! As Ms Thrifty says, it's a great start! Good to know you can do it on your own, but the group support will help no doubt. Really pleased for you Betty!

Weight watchers is definitely a good way to get fit. Some close friends have used a variety of scary diets from Atkins to a water diet and shed huge amounts of weight only to put it all back (plus a little extra) when they returned to a normal lifestyle.

Thanks for all the support.....eating my turkey salad sandwich now in front of the pc at work.....I am even managing to resist the open packet of chocolate hobnobs in the office!.....Nervous for tonight but pleased that i have made the commitment! I can do it on my own but not consistently! I think that the group will work because I wont want the shame of getting on the scales and having to explain why ive put on and not been good! lol x

Don't worry about it, I was a worried before I went to the first meeting, but once I got there it was fine, they were all really nice. So far it's worked for me, the fact that I get weighed in public each week is enough to keep me away from the chocolate!! Luckily they don't shout out your weight, they just write it on the card o/ :D I definitely wouldn't go if they were going to tell everyone how much I weigh :tears:

I think thats what will keep me off the chocolate aswell! Fingers crossed....They dont shout out your weight, I bet everyone would lose everyweek if they shouted out if it was a loss or a gain! lol xx

cheers I will try not to worry too much : )
