He will be introducing the movie tomorrow at a private screening in London!
Hopefully there's gonna be a Q&A :)

That would be very interesting!
Do you have tickets/invite to the screening? If so, it would be great to hear your review of Childers' opinion.
If not, I think I'd try to find a report the day after.

Horrendous. Never have I been so bored. It only went on for two hours, and I came out thinking I'd been in there for two weeks. First things first, Butler's character is a desperately unlikeable individual, and for a 100% atheist like me, his transformation from total creep to insufferable preacher was far too much to bear. There's also a major timescale problem at the very start. Butler's daughter (who can't be more than three or four) suddenly transforms into a teenager. The dialogue is appalling - we are actually talking a George Lucas level of writing skills here. But if one good thing has come out of this film, it is the idea of starting a thread on this forum based entirely on the game between Butler's character and his daughter. I'll start:

I'm thinking of a...mouse!

Worst game ever? Most probably. I'd choose to play I, Spy over that shit.

I'm thinking of a house! (I agree it's a strange game but it's the kind of word game which young children can play !)

Isn't it strange how different our views are of this film? :confus:

I suppose that's one of the great things about this site; We are all entitled to our own opinion! o/

I think parents may view it with more poignancy. I know a lot of Sudanese people and it makes me feel all the more connected to their reasons for coming here.

Depends on your experiences i suppose ;)

I saw this film last night and thought it was very shocking in parts especially when i found out it was a true story. Very well made film and really good acting all throughout.
