An Education
Re: An Education
Thanks phunkygal.
I have b*ght the Times today as well. How long has the Times plus card been available as it was previously a Culture plus card... surely there won't be that many people who have pa*d the subscription and who want to go to the screenings........?

Preferred cinemas:
Central London and North London as far north as the Hampstead Everyman including Picturehouse Hackney/Notting Hill Gate - but not Wood Green and North Finchley as they are just a bit too far.

Re: An Education
I'd be surprised if they had enought members to fill all their screenings. Usually, when other papers do them (e.g. recently the Guardian for "Sin Nombre" and Telegraph for "The Soloist"), the screenings have been combined with SFF/TT screenings, bookable by the normal method and open to all, and even then, they haven't been full.

Re: An Education
Is there anyone out there who uses the Oxford Picturehouse and can they tell me how fussy they are when checking tickets for Times screenings? I don't know whether it is worth my daughter taking a punt on getting in with the old email...........

Re: An Education
When Times screenings are at Picturehouses they are usually combined with Picturehouse members screenings. I have seen people turned away from these in the past as the screen is full.Ms Thrifty wrote:I'd be surprised if they had enought members to fill all their screenings. Re: An Education
It was quite nice to see most of the cast showed up for the London Film Festival screening of An Education. It would have been nice to go to the Q&A but with a free screening, I guess it was better to save some money!

Re: An Education
Well saw this today at Fountain Park. Thanks so much for getting tickets for me
What a good film, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thought very well cast and lots of funny bits, loved the bit about if you dont go to uni you can always go to the civil service. Oh the joys of just being able to get a job..............
Thought the father was excellent, know lots of dads like him. Emma Thomson was good as ever and felt that she too was really believable as the Head Mistress.
Cinema very busy, not many spare seats at all.
Felt sorry for the latecomers as not a lot of people seemed to move up seats to let them in.
Very good sunday morning. 8/10 from us
