I have a question to everybody who mentioned porn about this movie... when was last time you watched porn? or have you ever watched porn at all???
Last time I watched porn was a bit more than 6 years ago (yeah I could almost give you the exact date :D ), and from what I remember what I saw tonight did not look like porn and did not sound like porn!

This was sex; just (?) sex!
Obviously some people are uncomfortable with sex, but then people, do not come to a Rated 18 screening... yes I am speaking about you, moronic neighbours that were so uncomfortable that you could not stop speaking/commenting and giggling... it was not for you, you should have walked away!
Haymarket was horrible tonight! Between the loud neighbours, the usual munchers, the occasional mice and the heating set on 25 or so to start with... this was not a very good experience!

Now about the film itself; well I can say that I did not feel uncomfortable (call me liberal, some do/did!) with any of the sex scenes! But this is about it really! I think the actors were fine, I liked the editing and the cinematography, but I had some problems with the take home message.
Not quite sure I understand everything!

what I think I got, but correct me if I am wrong
1. Bredon has a sex addiction
2. his sister also has some kind of sexuality issues as well as an history of self harming (is she self harmimg to fight a sexual addiction?)
3. Bredon despised his sister's sexual behaviour and tried to get his own addiction sorted (?): first trying to engage in a normal relationship with his colleague, then by engaging in a very violent (self-harming by procuration?) behaviour (beaten up, then gay club thing)
4. That did not work so he plunges again in his addiction until his sister attempts suicide (why did she do that?)
5. His sister attempted suicide seems to relieve him from his addiction at the end...
this movie is a mess!
6.5/10

Saw this tonight in Glasgow. An older crowd and not just cos it was an 18. Half were over 50.

Film was ok. Not bad but not good either. I see how they tried to make the film last longer than necessary. Sister did my head in. Maybe cos it was Carey Mulligan. A couple of walk out in the last part of the film. Not as much sex as I thought. Not much else to say really. 5/10

Haymarket is a rubbish cinema -- at least the ones in the basement are. There were mice and why do people come in late and then insist on sitting together? Why do people move to accommodate them? Why don't they say "just sit down and shut up because no one can see because of your idiocy" -- oh yes some people like me did say that.

This was not porn. Yes it was adult and it might not be to everyone's taste but the acting was good. The story was sad, lots of things weren't resolved and it felt a bit long. Husband loved Carey Mulligan's version of "New York, New York". Guardian said the film was 'rigorous' so make of that what you will!

I watched this tonight at the Haymarket immediately after watching "Bronson" at home - y'know, that old Tom Hardy prison flick. I'm pretty certain my nightmares tonight are going to involve me running away from loads of flaccid male genitalia.

This was pretty bad, but I wouldn't call it the worst of the year. Far from it. The performances were actually pretty good - it's the material which needed work. And I definitely did not enjoy Carey Mulligan's rendition of "New York". What was that like 20 minutes long? Her voice is great, but the piano was so off-key.

What I did like, was the use of the single-shot technique employed in multiple scenes. None of 'em were quite along the lines of the hammer sequence from "Oldboy" but they were impressive none the less. That awkward date was also something I related to quite well. Damn irritating waiters killing the momentum by interrupting every intimate moment *grrr*

Oh yeah, Fassbender and Mulligan play brother and sister in this movie. You would therefore expect them to appear full-clothed in all of their scenes together, right? Wrong!!! And dear God, so much fapping.

BTW, does anyone actually drink orange juice/milk directly out of the cartons in the real world? I've never done it even once. What does it feel like? What am I missing?

PS. I was seated in the very front row of the theater. That was indeed a mouse.

I had it on authority that there were two mice. They crawled over someone's bags. Not a good place to put your coat under your seat.

Surely if there are mice then it is a health and safety issue or something. Can't the council close the venue down until it is mice free?

Loved it again tonight, went in just before it begun, and made sure I didn't interrupt anyone, right at the front like a good boy. Effing mouse freaked me out though, never going downstairs again.
