Head to the Red Bull Mini Drome and see fixed gear cyclists compete against each other in the world's smallest velodrome.

Challenging course
Designed to be a unique challenge for the fixed gear riders competing in the race, the Red Bull Mini Drome has been engineered in Germany by the same team who built the velodrome for the Olympic Games in Atlanta and the Delhi Commonwealth Games. The velodrome has kept to the same dimensions as a conventional cycling racing track, but on a much smaller scale.

Fast paced sport
With the increasing popularity of the Tour de France, the GB cycling team proving their worth at recent international sporting events and the London Olympic Games fast approaching, it's fair to say that there's a growing interest in cycling sports in the UK. The races at the Red Bull Mini Drome are bound to be popular affairs, with spectators able to watch as the riders reach speeds of up to 80km per hour.

Fixed gear races
The event is open to fixed gear riders of all ages, with qualification open to over 400 competitors in a single timed race. The racers with the quickest time over 10 laps will then progress to the finals at the Red Bull Mini Drome, with the champion decided through a single pursuit knockout round.

Tiny proportions
At 25 metres in circumference and just 1.8 metres wide, the tiny velodrome track will test the skills and concentration of even the most seasoned competitor. It's free to go along and watch all the action, and as York Hall has a 500 spectator capacity, you can expect an enthusiastic crowd to be cheering on all the cyclists taking part.

The qualification day at the Red Bull Mini Drome take place at York Hall on Saturday 17th March, with the main event day taking place on Sunday 18th March 2012.

Spectators are welcome from 3pm - 10pm at the main event on Sunday. Admission is free to the first 500 spectators to arrive at the venue.
