Don't bother with the German market at the O2, it's absolutely pathetic. Barely any stalls, and the prices are horrendous. They want £5 for a German sausage! You get two for that price at the German Deli on Borough Market!!!

So we wandered off after half an hour, determinded to go home, but then they announced the train wouldn't stop at Canary Wharf "due to passenger action" (we saw some people being arrested while we drove through the station), and this is when we noticed Bevvy who sat in the same carriage with a friend. They had spare tickets for a drink tasting event at Vinopolis, so on the spur of the moment we went with them, and the OH got very merry with all the alcohol! We then had a wander over the Christmas market at Southbank, but even that isn't all that (though the food prices are better), so I hope Winter Wonderland will be better and more affordable!

I went on Wednesday and it was lovely, fairly quiet so you could look at every stall. A huge German sausage was £6 but was too big so you could share it. I went on the wheel which was £7.50 but I could only make out Big Ben, the London Eye and I think the tall post office building; because of where it is you don't get much of a view. The Manchester markets are more compact and cosy but tricky to see much as it's always so busy.

It's December! Anyone got any advent calendars? I got my OH a Transformers one for a laugh, but he's away on business so I suppose I'll have to eat the first few for him! HAHA!

Have you started decorating / putting up trees etc etc?

I'm invited to my first Christmas do tomorrow, which sadly I can't go to, but isn't it early? Can anyone beat that?

I've got advent calenders for my girls aged 16 and 19.
Just returned today from Bremen I went to see the Christmas Markets with my youngest daughter (she had an extra day off school - inset day), what a beautiful city so I'm really getting in a festive mood! I've got my first works Christmas Do on Friday (the first of 5 8O ), its an Abba tribute night and we all know each other really well so we can just admit we like Abba and just enjoy the night.
Need to go to bed early after doing London and Germany in the same week and working in between!

Oh no - I'm too busy getting Christmas ready for other people that I don't have time to sort myself out. I have b*ght a Newcastle United advent calendar for my son. And the first Christmas card landed yesterday. That tree is not going to go up until about the 19th or 20th. It will have to be a weekend - it's a long job in our house. The invites to nights out are coming in, including a FMUK NE meeting to celebrate the opening of the new Odeon in Gateshead. :D
