We came last in the quiz but someone from the winning team gave me his prize, yay. Had a thoroughly nice Christmas party but now I am at home feeling knackered and wooly-headed (from the cold, I didn't drink!)

my christmas do is next week and it is a 5 course buffet ( will need to starve myself for then) plus my team have decided to have a mini party which means even more food ( oh dear!).

Just put up the tree and now getting ready to go on the 2nd of 5 works Christmas dos, it's a Thai meal tonight. I will have to do another long walk after the cinema in the morning or watch what I eat :noo: ; knowing me it's a long walk!

We went tree shopping yesterday but came back empty handed as we want an even bigger one! Hope we find one today else will regret not getting the 6ft one yesterday. Got the decorations though... although no one seems to sell tinsel!?! Where-oh-where are the pound shops when you need them!?

LOL, tinsel is fifties stuff!

The prize was a small bag full with various chocs and some cava, plus shortbread for some reason. Handy for those people who drop in unexpectedly with a gift in their hand and you can say "Here, I haven't forgotten you!"

My sister and I have just been to Birmingham for the (German-style) Xmas market, which was well worth seeing, and put to shame the so-called Xmas market in Lille that OH and I visited the previous weekend - though Lille itself was well worth visiting. We packed a lot into our brief stay in Birmingham, including a carol concert and trip to the theatre. Planning to return in the spring to see and do more.

How is tinsel 50s?! Can't have a tree without tinsel. Found a pound shop which was AWFUL. I WILL find some!

We got a tree, btw. It's HUGE. About 10ft. Fits well with our flat, but it really is huge. Just need lots of pressies for underneath it now! NOW I feel Christmassy!
