Actress Daniela Caliandro and former make-up artist Valentina Rock are the two women behind the company: ‘We aim to explore innovative approaches to acting and focussing on performances of contemporary or reinterpretation of classic writings that address current issues.’
Valentina says,” Our debut show Uncle Vanya echoes our agenda perfectly”.
Says Daniela, ‘The first time I read Uncle Vanya, it was the state of mind of the characters that struck me. Chekhov is all about subtext, so as an actor and an audience you have to look for the real message.
‘We say one thing, think another and do a third – and it’s the third we want to explore through body language. That’s also why each actor is going to speak in his own language.’
