Its myself, my daughter and my friend from work hence we want a triple room and somewhere safe, I will post later to tell you which one I have booked.
Sorry, not been on this thread for a while, been otherwise engaged!
For anyone else interested, I stayed at Hotel Agon Frankfurter in East Berlin - I was there about 7 years ago, and costs about £35 a night with really good breakfast, so it may be a little bit more now. Very close to the underground, but we did walk once into the centre of Berlin to the Brandenburg Gate, and it took us about an hour but we walked slow, and it was a very pleasant walk, looking at the lovely buildings and shops along the way, it was just one straight road.

Thank you all so much I have now booked to stay at
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j& ... bCXsaDvmSA it was from Moondance that led me onto here, they all look fabulous so thank you so much - this was the best one I could find with a triple room and breakfast (this is to save time). If you have any tips for me that would be brilliant - I know that I have to get the bus 100 to get around (thanks Beate) and to visit Potsdam.

There's a lot to see in just a couple of days, you'll have to be quick! The bus is good if you don't want to rush around, but Berlin's metro is fantastic, cheap and rarely crowded, and it runs through the night. We just got a day ticket (tageskarte) each day for around €6 and that covers all lines.
Apart from the obvious sites (Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, etc) if you have time you should have a look at "East Side Gallery", a long stretch of the Wall that still remains intact (Warschauer Strasse station). I also liked wandering around Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain for its alternative shops, bars and art galleries...

I also recommend visiting the dome of the Reichstag. It's free, but you need to book in advance. I think there are also some free guided tours of the Reichstag. If you need help with the bookings, let me know (I'm fluent in German) or maybe ask Beate to help you. Otherwise, there are also some free guided walking tours of Berlin. Potsdam is very nice too. It takes about an hour to get there.

Am off to The Lizard Pennisula next month..... never been that side of Cornwall before. Is there anywhere people would recommend a definite visit to? Failing that we're just praying for good weather :-)
