Re: Snow
It's snowing badly here in Durham - at least 10cm overnight to add to the existing snow, which has had no time to clear. I was facing the prospect of digging the car out and driving about 15 miles to work on country roads - luckily my boss has just rung and said that I'm not to try at all. So I'll be desk-bound at home today - safe!

Re: Snow
What?! I'm jealous. I am at work (though there's not that many of us), having had very little trouble to get in. Delays on the tube but not much. Getting TO the station on the otherhand was not so easy. An icy hill (downhill) beckoned. Luckily I am still in one piece. Tomorrow I may carry salt with me.
We only had a few cms of snow. But it was still snowing lightly when I left...

Re: Snow
It's still snowing here and I think we have around 15cm. Trains from my small local station are running but I need to change at Sutton where trains are cancelled. Sitting on a train for 15 minutes and then everyone was told to just get off because it wasn't going to go anywhere. Apparently there are broken down trains at Ewell and Cheam so that blocks most options.
My boss said not to worry and to work from home so that's what I am doing. With the heating on tropical!

Well at least we will know who is responsible when the country is running out of gas!jmd1983 wrote: With the heating on tropical!

Re: Snow
Just got home after spending 90 minutes trying in vain to get to work. Car stuck in our road, blocking mine in, but I wouldn't risk driving in this, anyway, as only the main roads are clear; side roads deep in snow. The annoying thing is that I had been checking the bus and train websites all morning, since before dawn, and both claimed services were running, but once at the bus and train stations, this proved not to be true. Then, when I got back, there was a message on the answering machine saying my meeting had been cancelled anyway...
