OMG! Allowing texting? Eeeek!
There's avid discussion regarding Tweet seats in theatres too, which can add to the buzz of a show and be great marketing. I think it's only justified if these Tweet seats are well away from the rest of the audience as to not disturb the performance. They could have "text seats" in cinemas, but again they should not disturb anyone else so should be well apart.
Perhaps in another room....
I love it, ejwrank. :bwl: That gets my vote! o/
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley

I am not talking about chatting or making noise, but specifically designed seats for bloggers/press etc to Tweet (quietly) during a show (whether it's theatre or film) which could add positive buzz for a production or screening and help spread the word.

But how would you make sure people are only blogging/tweeting about the film? It would never happen. People would access their phones every 5 minutes (as some morons do now) and others in the cinema wouldn't legitimately be allowed to tell them to switch the bl--dy things off!. As for adding a positive buzz, well I don't b*y that. When print reviewers are in the audience they take in a pad and pen and write quick notes and then write it up later. Everything doesn't need to be done on the spot. I know it makes some people feel quite important if they can say they are tweeting as they watch and it may be very good for their Twitter profile but makes them an anti-social element in the theatre/cinema.

That's what press screenings are for though. I just find it so annoying seeing those screens all over the place.Whether you are p*ying or not you want to see a film or show. could you imagine how bad Avengers Assemble would have been if the fans were tweeting? PLus, how could you stop them from filming bits?
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

Hence the seats needing to be far away from audience peers (or like cubicles/boxes) or special Tweet screening so to not disturb anyone.

Good point on the filming, Valda, not sure. I know the US does Tweet seats so they must've found something around this.

Yep the back row is the place to be as there's nothing worse the even seeing a foot at the side of your face when they put one leg across the other. The only draw back is you get all the way to your seat to save it then have to go all the way back down to nip to the toilet before the film starts and then trek back up to your seat.

Most cinemas have decent leg room these days..its not like folk r cramped up sitting in a plane or even worse in a theatre...OMG dont get me started on theatres!! lol...and i myself belong in the long-leg club and yet i dont have any problems with keeping my feet off chairs! After this rant i shall have no choice BUT to sit at the back :noo:
