Don't forget Diane65 to print out free tickets in the free tickets giveaway for Historical Scotland attractions for your wee trip up here in Scotland.

Just back from Hong Kong. Been sitting here in the living room checking emails and messages whilst we been away. OH is happily watching X Factor. I thought the temperature would be about 20C but it was mid twenties with a couple of days reaching 30C. OH got badly sunburnt so was lobster red. We were pretty busy for the most part of our trip. Doing all the touristy things and seeing families and friends.

It is actually very pleasant. Has been really sunny and around 23-26degreesC but not sticky/humid. It is their winter temp! So a lot of them are wearing coats and scarfs, while I am just in my t-shirt! ;)

We've been down to Sun Moon Lake, for a few days, it is so beautiful.... and now have just arrived in Hualien - going to see the Gorge tomorrow. Unfortunately, it is wet, wet, wet here on the east coast of Taiwan, but still pretty warm and so far no hurricanes or earthquakes yet! :cross:

Oh Yinster, when were you there? I was there 5 Nov - 12 Nov! Could have met up and done some sights together!!?? ;)

I see Diane65 is off on her travels again... have a lovely time in Edinburgh! I have to go back again some time soon, it's ages since I last visited!

Sounds wonderful prettyxcool and just the name Sun Moon Lake puts a smile on my face.
Thank you and we will have a lovely time - they all are really lovely people (I've never met them yet but they sound like good fun - even with the teasing re Scottish but I believe that Alythonian will translate for me and Biggins has assured me that they won't turn up in kilts :shifty: but you never know).

That is a real pity that I didn't know you were there. We arrived on the Tuesday the 6th and left late on the Thursday the 15th. Whilst I done most of the touristy things OH still loves doing them even though she has done them twice already.

Tues 6th
Landed at 15:30 and spent the rest of the day chilling out and then meeting some of dad's side of the family for a huge meal
Wed 7th
Met up with two our Scottish friends who were in HK for a day and a bit from their Asian cruise. We went to Sai Kung where my gran is and then hit Ladies Market and Temple Market. Dinner before OH went to see some traditional dresses. Far too expensive for the length of the time we be wearing them.
Thur 8th
Met up again with Scottish friends in the morning to go to Victoria Peak. Took the bus there but took the tram back down. Then we went on the Star Ferry back to Kowloon side. After saying goodbyes we went to the big Buddha in Lantau
Fri 9th
Disneyland day then Sha Tin for dinner
Sat 10th
Macau
Sun 11th
We went to Shum Chung where my dad's old house is. It is one of the quietest part of Hong Kong I know and is part of the Sai Kung country park. There are no roads there. Only paths where a lot of hikers use. You can walk there but we always take the boat then walk the last mile there. My family does their baizu or Veneration of the dead to various different ancestors in various resting places. After we head to Sai Kung to see my gran before heading to Sha Tin for food
Mon 12th
Dim Sums at Jumbo Restaurant - world famous floating restaurant then we went to Repulse Bay. After that we visited Stanley market. In the evening we met up with a group of friends for a huge dinner
Tue 13th
Shopping day with family members then dinner at Ruby Tuesday
Wed 14th
Another day of shopping with different family members
Thur 15th
Chill out day and getting anything else we want before flying out

In between our busy days we shopped and ate a lot.
