Jack Reacher

What a fantastic day I had - it was an absolutely brilliant prize I won. We started off with a delicious buffet lunch, with wraps and mini rolls filled with beef or ham, little scotch eggs, and Thai fish cakes, and little choc eclairs, cheese cakes and tarts. Then after being given goody bags, we were all ushered into another room where a small stage was set up, and were told no photographs and autographs, and all the winners sat in the front row, with their plus one sat behind them. It was a bit disappointing that the host will ask our questions, however, we will each be introduced before our questions are posed. The whole Q&A was filmed and will be going live Thursday on Yahoo Movies.

Then the director, Christopher McQuarrie, Lee Child and Tom Cruise were introduced, and each questions were asked, intermersed with online questions and some from the host, and as each question was answered, they would look at the person who posed it. Unfortunately, they ran out of time and my question and another girl's were not asked so we did not get a personal look from Tom Cruise! However, we were all told we would have an individual photo with Tom, Lee and Christopher and as we went up we shook their hands and spoke to them. Tom is sooo, sooo nice! We had a nice chat too before getting our photos done. Then after all the photos were taken, they disappeared, and we were whisked by taxi to Leicester Square to the VIP pen to watch the stars walk by for the Premiere.

I did feel sorry for those in the VIP pen, who just won premiere tickets as the stars did not stop by our pen and they had been standing there all day in the bitter cold, except for Tom Hardy who came over briefly, and the girl who sat next to me during the Q&A managed to get a photo with him before he disappeared inside. And the producer actually stood for a couple of minutes and posed for us. Wish the rest of the stars did the same, but we were ignored. So I was glad we had the Q&A and "the photo"! We saw the Stig and James May, Lewis Hamilton and his girlfriend from X-Factor, Nicole Scherzinger, the boxer David Haye, Bill Nighy, Andrea Riseborough, Tom Hardy, and the cast from Jack Reacher, Robert Duvall, David Oyelowo, Rosamund Pike, and of course Tom Cruise.

The only downside was that we could not go inside out of the cold earlier, as we had to wait to the bitter end to be let out and wait for the premiere tickets to get into the screening.

Once inside, the stars were introduced, this time by the producer, and they filed on and filed off. I will share my video once I have uploaded and some photos too.

Then at last, the film. It was so, so good. Just like Lee Child's books, which you cannot put down, your attention is held from start to finish. Totally enjoyed this. It is a really good thriller and full of action, the story is good, and so was the acting, Tom playing a very believable Jack Reacher, really well. 10/10

I was given a ticket by my mates who got them from work, which was an unexpected surprise. Sam got one as well and we were in the balcony right at the back. Not my fav place to be, as you are so far away from the screen. In the front right of the balcony was Bill Nighy, Nicole Sherzinger and Lewis Hamilton. On the left front side was Tom Hardy and James May. The guy next to me thought he saw MAtt Smith 8O . he also got a picture with Tommy in the toilets, after he showed him how to use the taps :giggle:

I actually enjoyed the film for what it was. I've read all the books, so was a bit wary about the casting, but once it started I got into it. The film captured the essence of the books, and was full of action, good one liners and was pretty funny in places. Robert Duvall was excellent in his role, and made a good foil to Reacher. 8/10

After the film finished, we looked around for tickets for F_T and were probably the last to leave. As we were going down the stairs Tommy H was coming down the other side and was stopped to have his pic taken. I plucked up courage to ask him about Fury Road ( he was wearing the cast jacket and cap) He said they wrapped that morning in Namibia 8O no wonder he looked knackered, he was lovely though. :shifty:

Tempted to do Quartet at Vue Shepherds Bush then rush over to Hammersmith for this (finally gave in and got an unlimited card at the weekend). As long as Quartet doesn't start late I'll have just over 20 mins to make it.

Plenty of time to get to Hammy, you could even walk there, especially down the back routes.

Got to this in the nick of time. Thank god for adverts (never thought I would say that!).
I have not read the books by Lee Child, so I had no idea what to expect from this but it was very entertaining and funny.

Great plot that twists and turns all the way to the end. Loved the suspense, action and comic factors.
Enjoyed the story of the anti-hero hero. Actors did it justice and I may finally get why people love Tom Cruise.
That phone call was epic, might rival Liam Neeson's in Taken. Opening scene has you hooked.

I would have loved to know more about Reacher. 9/10

I thought this was great fun. It never takes itself too seriously, but the story never gets sidetracked by the silliness.

That's the thing with the latest books. You don't get to know about him. He's ex military , and opted out of society
