Re: Hitchcock
Saw this in my beloved Bournemouth Odeon which was fairly full and sat behind lovely big_bad_wolf plus senior cub members.
Like others, I was also transfixed by the cyanotic lips, prostheses and Michael Caine voiceover but I thought both leads were great, especially Helen Mirren who is still hot stuff even though it feels like her Prime Suspect days were thousands of years ago. I think they toned down the extent of the blonde fixation if Tippi Hedren is to be believed. I also refuse to imagine him with Ingrid Bergman; surely they were taking the p*@$. 7/10

Re: Hitchcock
Saw this at the Curzon Mayfair last night (very warm room).......a bright and breezy film that was well played and interestingly put together I thought
Not the most engrossing film I have seen so far in 2013, but I found it enjoyable all the same
Well cast, well written......a good 98mins in the cinema 7/10

Re: Hitchcock
Manged to see this on Sunday am thanks to checking the links once again even though a few minutes previously there was no tickets left. Even hubby who was a bit doubtful really enjoyed it. Made better by free pop corn from the cinime app.
Re: Hitchcock
My other half really wants to see this film. I am happy to tag along but am I likely to enjoy it if I (shamefully) don't know much about the man himself at all?
I don't want to be the confused, uncultured fool who keeps having to whisper to find out what is going on!

Re: Hitchcock
Don't worry, it isn't a complicated film only for Hitchcock experts, you'll be able to follow it no bother.jack554 wrote:My other half really wants to see this film. I am happy to tag along but am I likely to enjoy it if I (shamefully) don't know much about the man himself at all?

Re: Hitchcock
Eventually saw this tonight at Odeon Surrey Quays to quite a packed cinema. This is not a bad film nor is it great. Watchable but altogether quite forgettable.

Re: Hitchcock
Saw this at free screening at the Lowry in Manchester. first time I've been to this cinema and I have to say it was the cleanest cinema I'd been too! No grotty stains or ripped seats. They checked our bags on the way in too.
Didn't think the movie was boring at all, quite enjoyed it and the acting was really good.

Re: Hitchcock
Oh no, forgot to post!
Saw this at Shepherd's Bush Vue, and it was very full.
Although Anthony Hopkins may have the prosthetics to make him look like Hitchcock, his voice is unmistakably Hopkins! Helen Mirren was lovely and fab as always. It is not a biopic of Hitchcock, more the making of Psycho, and the Alma slant is quite interesting. 7/10
