That's the reality of functioning alcoholics . . . they are in denial as they appear to got to work ok so they are not alcoholic . . . also, they think no one else notices!Sheila wrote:Great start but why did it take so long for Denzel to admit his alcoholism ?

Re: Flight
Watched this last night. Great performance from Denzel and the crash scene was good. I'd recommend it to others.

Re: Flight
Saw this earlier in the week and in doing so thought I'd do a bit of FMUKer spotting. bigbadwolf was in attendance with red riding hood and what charming people they are! I really enjoyed the first 40mins but thought Reilly a bit superfluous in terms of both the story and her acting and the slow in pace ruined it a bit. Denzel has still got it. I thought the druggy scenes were essential to showing how out of hand it all got.
Strong 7/10 from me.

Re: Flight
Can I get an answer to two simple questions about this film?
1) Is it worth p*ying to see?
2) Will it put me off flying?
It looks like a great film and I am trying to branch out more this year and view all sorts of different films that I wouldn't necessarily choose to see in the cinema, and I think I might enjoy this... Plus no 3D means slightly more affordable tickets, as I couldn't get any freebies for this.
Thanks all.
Also why is the above word *'d? Is that a *whispers* "forbidden word" around here?

Re: Flight
I would say it is worth p*ying to see and don't watch it the month before you're flying

Re: Flight
I lost my "free film"cherry at this film and what a great film fot it to happen. Excellent film. Denzel acted his socks off, his depiction of an alcoholic refusing to admit that he was one was both emotional and frustrating. The crash scene was harrowing, I'm not even afraid of flying but the next time I have to go anywhere by plane I think I may need a drink beforehand!! I give the film 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it to everyone.
Re: Flight
First bit was the best, was sat at the edge of my seat! Makes me never want to get on a plane again tho!

Saw this last night and have to say it was a great film.
A little too long but it was nice to see a film dealing with alcoholism as there are not many or any that do.very well acted by Denzel and did feel for him at times when he finally admitted what his issues were.

Re: Flight
Good point, initially when it seemed like it was a 'disaster' movie, it actually turned out to be a movie about alcoholism... and perhaps substance abuse.tilly wrote:Saw this last night and have to say it was a great film.
