It is all in the minds of the viewers.
Agreed. That just goes to show that people see what they want to see and not necessarily what they are shown.
I heard one woman complain that she "saw everything and was shocked to see the sex organs of both the man and woman". I swear she saw a different film to me! Dirty mare lol
X-ray vision is the only explanation

Wish I hadn't wasted an evening seeing this film. People walked out of the cinema at my screening.

I entered a comp for tix so it would be Sod's Law if I won, as I certainly wouldn't want to go now. And to think I entered everything going for Arbitrage, Safe Haven, etc, yet not a sausage, whereas many of the usual suspects seemed to win again (I am convinced non-Londoners somehow get weeded out!). If only you could say, if you won something, "Actually, could you please carry my name over until the next preview instead?"
EDIT: and for anyone interested, this should be the link to the episode of R4's Front Row in which Nicole Kidman discusses her roles in The Paperboy and Stoker. She says the former part was so poisonous that she avoided contact with family, etc, for the duration of the making.

We had tickets but soon decided to leave, tempted to go into another screening. Should we have?

If you mean screenhop and go into a scheduled film, then no. Apart from anything else, you haven't pa*d to get in to see a film and if caught, the cinema are within their rights to call the Police. At the very least, they will have security escort you from the building and you won't be allowed entry to that cinema in future.

I don't know about all cinemas, but they have 'night vision cameras' at Vue, Wood Green, so the staff can certainly spot things like this easily!

Hehe Hope your mum has recovered ok?! Yeah I thought this film was a courtroom drama type movie, having not read up on it! I found it compelling too, we didnt have any walkouts and also:
a wave of shocking gasps all around the theatre when Matthew Mc got his throat slit
Preferred cinemas: Any in Edinburgh!

Hahaha, she's just about got over it. I must say though she's talked more about watching this film than the last few that we've seen.

Given that there are more screenings of this coming up I thought I'd add my review - which is a bad one. Both me and my mate thought it was terrible. Trying to be arty but didn't work on any level - not gripping enough as a thriller, not enough focus to be a legal drama, not arty enough to be art-house, none of the characters likeable enough to have any kind of sympathy for them or interest in the slight romantic element, and just generally badly made. Only positive was that all the actors were good, so not their fault, but they didn't have anything to work with.
Worst screening I've seen for a long time. Best avoided would be my advice. 2/10
