They started our Argo 20 mins early tonight, then came in and stopped it to restart as there were still people arriving after 6.30. Even then some people still came in nearer 7pm. I mean, honestly???

First off, the cinemas should stop letting them in. It's a bug bear of mine, but hardly any cinema enforces the "no admittance after the film starts" rule as stated on the ticket.

If they are gonna let people in, they should be ushered in and told to sit at the nearest seat to the door. To wander around & expect people to move up when they've been there from the start & are into the film (or asleep), is the height of rudeness.

Saw this last week. It's an effectively creepy film that works best when it keeps the ghostly figure of Mama in the background and limited to a series of quick glimpses. Sadly the more you find out about her and the more she appears on-screen in all her dodgy CGI glory, the less effective the film becomes. Still worth seeing for some enjoyable jump scares and a disturbing atmosphere though and Jessica Chastain & Nikolaj Coster-Waldau are both excellent (even if the latter is a little underused). Director Andy Muschietti shows promise even if it doesn't entirely work.

I agree with your review. It was a film with potential, but as it continued I personally felt a little let down.

Quite a sweet little horror film really. I didn't find it scary at all, the kid actors I thought were brilliant. However I expected it to be loads better. It coulda, shoulda, woulda been a good film but just lacked the sprinkle of Horror Dust needed to make it into a good film.

That's about the size of it, yeah, saw it with four of my friends and we all thought the same thing.
