Latecomers to screenings and other cinema nuisances

Thankfully it's stopped now but I used to get quite annoyed at people booking tickets for a free screening for a city they don't live in and then going to the "offer" or "swap" section here and putting the tickets up to swap i.e. 2 tickets for Birmingham, will swap for London! That just stank of "get whatever is available and take away from the people who could actually attend that screening"....

I agree :) So many times I have attended screenings where there have been empty seats - I know sometimes things don't go to plan and not always easy to get to a computer to offer the tickets if you can't go

But I think the problem is the communication between the promoter/client (SKY, SFF, Virgin etc) and the actual cinema isn't that great. The client will hire a screen and allocate so many tickets yet a cinema choose to allocate a smaller screen or a larger screen than is appropriate to suit or fit in with their other showings. Yes there is over subscription to compensate people not going but I think the fault partly lies too with the cinema screen allocation. It is better for the feedback to say how many people you estimate to be at the screening than percentage. Or if it is full say full after the figure so the promoter knows.

A cinema screen might house 125 people but the booking will only be for 100 tickets/people.
Don't always assume that every seat has been booked by Sky/SFF etc as that is rarely the case.

I would add, people not being prats about empty seats too - I once arrived first on my row of seats for a movie, and a few minutes later a couple filled in two seats to the right of me, and a threesome two seats to the left of me. Upon which a DUMBASS couple came in and asked me if I could move up (which is not a problem at all for me obviously) BUT the TONE they asked it in, as if I shouldn't have been sat there in the first place leaving seats on either side of me vacant! And after I immediately agreed to move despite their tone, they said 'ohhh doesn't MATTER!'

Did not like the way they assumed they were on the moral high when they lacked the facets to make moral judgements.

At a recent screening, someone ate a yoghurt next to me. That was a new one. But less noisy than popcorn!

The last time someone sat next to me eating a largelarge hot dog they nearly had a vomit topping to go with it. Vile creatures who stuff themselves with this crap..
