Cardinal O'Brien has resigned as Archbishop with immediate effect. He will not attend the conclave in Rome to select the new pope.
This is very sad news for Catholics in Scotland. I am so shocked by this news as he always seemed to be such a genuinely down to earth, honest man.

Is it just me . . . if you've seen this on tv but the 2 police standing outside the hospital look really silly given their difference in height! If you've not seen it yet, catch a news broadcast! :p
Sorry to hear the Queen is unwell but sure she would not be left to lie on a trolley in a corridor for hours as others have been forced to do!
