Help! Couldn't connect to the internet this morning at home and don't know why! Checked from work and it says Virgin Internet is fine but everything was ok yesterday and I have two green lights on my modem.

Re: IT Help, Please
Sometimes, even despite having the lights, you just need to reset the modem (or turn it on and off) because Virgin has done an update.
If that doesn't help, right click on the Internet connection and one of the menu options is to see check the connection and see what the problem is.

Re: IT Help, Please
I'll have to properly turn it off tonight for a while and see whether that helps - tried to contact MrG but he's not answering.

Re: IT Help, Please
I had the same problem with Sky Internet last week. I reset the modem so many times it drove me nuts.
Fingers crossed, it has sorted itself out as I couldn't cope with only two seconds of connection each time!
I wonder if the weather was the problem, it seems to affect so much.

Re: IT Help, Please
Well, the "reset your modem" didn't work. MrG made me do a diagnostics and it seemed like my modem was ok but my logon parameters were corrupted (at least that's what he said) as I just couldn't get a connection. He recommended I call Virgin Media, and interestingly, they got quite alarmed when I described my problem - apparently a lot of Speed Touch Modem owners had started reporting problems today and they were assigning engineers to deal with the problem. It could take up to 5 working days but hopefully only one or two days. He still tried to tell me my modem might be at fault even though all the green lights are there, but I don't quite believe why they would mobilise the engineers if my modem in my flat has conked out? So I only have internet at work right now, and if they don't fix this before Good Friday I am going to be in a whole lot of shit as it's my week off next week as well.

Try resetting to default settings to start with as it seems you have already tried to resize the window as it will always open the same size you last closed it. Do check that all IExplorer.exe are being closed in task manager as if one is still open the program is nto being shut properly.
I prefer to use Firefox at the moment but I am thinking of going to Chrome soon as Firefox has become unstable and slow.

Re: IT Help, Please
When OH lost his Sim and it got replaced in the shop we discovered to our relief that all his numbers were also saved on his phone so he didn't lose any. I asked the shop worker to make sure they are saved both on his phone and on the Sim to cover all eventualities but they are now all displaying twice. I want them saved on both but not displayed twice - how can I achieve that or will I just have to manually delete one number each? And which one?
