What Joanne said!

Loved his classic books. Only just b*ght a new copy of The Rats recently to read for the nth time. Always felt it a shame that in my opinion none of his books translated well onto the silver screen. I think this was due to his books being so graphic that one's imagination was indeed far superior to the results that any director could reproduce. (Or perhaps it was poor judgement on his choice of director?)

Sad.

Sad to see a star from down my road leave this world since theres not many of them around in the first place.

He never looked all that healthy even back in Pie in the Sky days, and I remember fully expecting to lose him halfway through the potter series, but no he surprised me and even more remarkably always had a wonderful smile on his face whenever you see his picture. I hope he went out with that lovely smile on, he lived a full life given his very humble upbringings that's quite an achievement.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Such sad news, I had the privilege to see him in the History Boys when it was in New York. Such a great actor and he looked like such a lovely man.

Very sad news. I had the pleasure of sitting on the front row last year watching him in the Sunshine Boys which was fantastic.

One of those actors I would happily watch in anything, he will be sadly missed.
