There's a notice on the website saying
"This cinema is closed due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We apologise for any inconvenience."

There certainly was yesterday, as I was all set to see the early show of "Karthik Calling Karthik", but had to change my plans. It's hard enough now just to find your way into the Trocadero Centre, as the entrance on the south side has closed. I was one of several people waiting outside the cinema and we thought the staff were just being slow to open up; then, someone noticed a small, handwritten sign, tucked away in a dark corner (and the whole place is gloomy and ill-lit), saying that the cinema was closed due to a power cut. Luckily for me, I had plenty of other options, but the experience did nothing for customer relations!

hey can you pre book tickets for the BAFTA screenings or do you just have to go to the cinema with your voucher and hope for the best? :P

But don't leave it till the day - you have to go there as soon as and get your tix or there will be none left. Sorry, I think my first answer was confusing. I meant you can't prebook online or something.

But with Shaftsbury avenue shut, it kind of limits the choice for those of us in london, no?

True, but we don't know how long it's shut for, could be just today, and it's shut for everybody so no one can get ahead in the queue and snap up all the tickets.
