Gosh, how on earth do people manage with those trackpad devices on laptops? At sister's house and she is kindly letting me use her laptop, but although I took the precaution of bringing my own mouse, her laptop doesn't like it. Talk about a steep learning curve - it all seems so hit and miss (literally) and very slow.

I find the worst feature of touchpads is tapping. I always disable it to make them useable.

Funnily enough, I prefer a trackpad over a mouse. Especially when using photoshop as I find I'm much more precise while using it ;)

I'm not sure what you mean about the tapping, Steve, and fortunately, c_t, I don't use any fancy software, but although I'm getting better at using the trackpad, I'll be glad when I can get back to my own laptop. As long as I haven't by then forgotten how to use it...

mum-in-law went to heaven on Monday night. Thought I would miss FMUKCON to go to funeral (overseas), but relieved to find that there is a queue for the crematorium and the vicar's first availability is May Day Bank Holiday! That was close. ;)

Sorry to hear about your OH's mum, pxc. It's a shame it seems an awful long time to wait until the funeral. There will be no real closure until you get that over. :bighug: for you and your OH.

ps I know what you mean about the date without seeming too callous.
Unfortunately, these things can't be planned for . . . unlike FMUKCON!

Thanks andrews and McG. The family obviously wanted the funeral as soon as possible so mum-in-law is in her final resting place with dad-in-law, soon. But it seems, in their country, it does take that long to organise, and is normal practice.

It used to be possible, but no longer. Sorry, the name when booked is it forever.
