Here's my review. I loved it, fixed damn near everything I dislike about Star Trek. The 3D was a bit rubbish though, the film clearly wasn't shot with it in mind.

I really enjoyed this film, the baddie became a goodie went bad again but very clever. Mr Spock is the greatest superhero ever but why were the 3d glasses so ordinary? I had my heart set on getting a pair with Vulcan ears - what a missed opportunity !!! And doesn't London look amazing in the future ?

Saw in Glasgow last night with lots of FMUKers and friends.
I was not a fan of TV Star Trek but really enjoyed the film. As I can't see 3D its wasted on me but asked my friend's OH who was with me what he thought and he thought it was really good in this film. Film was very entertaining and time passed quickly. Acting was good though I must admit Scotty's accent annoyed me . . just too much! I'd highly recommend seeing even if it means p*ying!

Have booked (using actual money !!....I know, it was painful) to go & see this again in 2d.

Even though I have already seen this, still quite excited, which must say something.

Looking to go and see this tomorrow after work, is it worth using one of my 3D tickets, providing I sit in the middle of the cinema, (will definitely remember this for 3D in the future), or 2D as the reviews seem mixed?

I didn't like the 3d tbh. Only the first 10 mins in 3d is good. In some scenes it was darker / blurry on the sides of the screen. I was sitting in the middle. Not a fan of 3d anyway. Pretty good film overall. Star trek fans will prob like it more than I did though. 7.5/10

I also truly believe a big factor is your eye sight. I sit with OH right in the middle and whilst I personally liked the 3D effects she doesn't. I have near perfect eyesight whilst she wears contacts.

Depending when your 3D tickets expire I'd go see it in 3D as I'm struggling to use mine up at the moment, there aren't as many 3D films around once you discount ones you've seen for free. I think I'm going to use one on Great Gatsby and see if they let me use the second to advance book Man of Steel. More than likely once I have done that MOS will come up as a free screening.

As for the 3D effects in Star Trek it has some moments. I wear contacts and sat right in the centre and I actually flinched when a spear was thrown out the screen in the first few minutes and also later on the some rubble fell out too.

I do have a problem with long panning shots in 2D & 3D in most films I see these days they almost always look blurry to me. I don't know if it's me, a problem with the cinematogrphy or the projection but I always wonder what's the point of doing a long pan around a scene with most of it out of focus.
