For once I actually agreed with most of the eventual winners! :P

The ceremony was a bit of a drag as usual though, normally you can just watch the opening sequence and the main joke speech by the presenter and then fast forward the rest...

As for The Hurt Locker beating Avatar, I'm glad to see that the better film won in the end as I really thought that the voters were going to pick Avatar

There are already quite a few conspiracies floating around to explain why The Hurt Locker won (actor v cgi backlash, liberal protest against the war, a demonstration of art v box office, etc.) but personally I'm just happy to believe that The Hurt Locker was one of the best, if not the best, films of 2009... :P

I was watching the Oscars highlights yesterday on Sky 1 and I was surprised to see Colin Firth there saying how great Jeremy Renner is. Colin Firth was only doing an interview with Sky News last week saying he's skipping the Oscars and staying at home in Ireland with his baby...He must really hate the journalist...
