The Big Wedding

A perfectly acceptable wee midweek movie if your brain needs time out from the real world. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but I've seen worse. 5/10

bloody awful movie. I left early. In all honesty I have been to a lot of awful weddings but none are so dull as this. Clearly the stock in nuptial movies has fallen far since FWAAF, but then you could see that from the title - a big vacuous title devoid of any reason to see it. No wonder no one gets married anymore.

It certainly wasn't a wasted evening though, I walked into Iron Man later which is well worth another viewing.

Just been to see this. Not a laugh out loud movie but an easy watch for a Sunday morning. 3/5

This movie ruined my Sunday morning snooze. Was perfectly prepared to get some shut-eye but the film turned out to be better than I had thought so I had to open my eyes again and watch it.

I'm not saying it's a great film and it's another one with well-to-do people in gorgeous houses in breathtaking countryside (that lake!) who wear designer costumes and pearls and sit around in fancy restaurants, but for a Sunday morning it wasn't too taxing and easy on the brain. While it wasn't "uproariously" funny, it had its moments and I did laugh now and then - if you can forgive howlers like the quintessentially English Ben Barnes playing an adopted child from Colombia.

But it wasn't totally terrible and thankfully Robin William didn't act out too much in his role - I had feared the worst. Names like "Bebe" and "Muffin" for grown women should be outlawed though. Talk about history repeating itself - Amanda Seyfried seems to be the perpetual bride and Diane Keaton is forever adopting kids. Btw, her and Susan Sarandon are the same age not 10 years apart - though Sarandon looks admittedly better conserved somehow.

Expectations, expectations, expectations...they definitely played a part in how much I enjoyed watching this flick earlier today.

Don't really understand all the hate this movie has had directed at it, sure it's nothing special & most of the laughs are pretty cheap but at least it did manage to make me laugh, out loud, on a semi-regular basis.

It gets a deserved 6/10 from me & I would definitely recommend this movie to those that just want to switch their brain off and be entertained for ninety or so minutes...

We Really Enjoyed this movie and well over 95% of the cinema was laughing from start to finish! I was really surprised by some of the bad reviews! would recommend to any couples or friend who like a good laugh! It is a Rom-Com but not a soppy one! Enjoy everyone!!
