Over the weekend finished reading - BRADLEY WIGGINS - My Time. Already 100+ pages into JAMES CRACKNELL / BEVERLEY TURNER - Touching Distance

By dint of carrying it (almost) everywhere with me, managed to finish The Rosie Project today. A huge rave from me as it's very funny and different (though reminiscent, in a way, of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time); can't recommend it highly enough. Short, too! And would make a great film - wonder if anyone has already snapped up the rights?

I would recommend The Rosie Project too, a charming novel (though not quite as good as Curious).

It's so long since I read Curious that I can't recall it in much detail, and due to tiredness (not boredom), I did unfortunately nod off during the play. But from what I do remember, it wasn't as funny as Rosie, which I suppose is partly why the latter appealed so to me (work has been a bit c**p this week, but at least I have some). Do you also think it'd make a good film, c_t?

I can see The Rosie Project being turned into a movie, though they'll probably play it much more for laughs and comedy to appeal to a wider audience and it'll lose a lot of the quirkiness that makes it so charming on the page.

I know I have sinned (re the nodding off). As well as wasting the ticket money and coming to, feeling cross because I couldn't understand how the plot had developed. I suppose that's one of the many advantages of books, i.e. that you needn't miss out if you fall asleep, as you can just pick up where you left off, though some books suffer somewhat from being read in snippets.

I really hope someone is filming The Rosie Project, or will be, even if they change it. After the success here of the theatre version of Curious, and on both sides of the Atlantic of Silver Linings Playbook (another book I loved), The Rosie Project rights should be hot property.

Now I am quite looking forward to not having to race through a non-renewable library book for a change - seem to have been tied to tight deadlines for weeks now. and just when I have minimal me-time. So when I go away next week, I will take several books and probably return with them all untouched!

The Rose Project looks like a wonderful read. Just started The Haunting by Alan Titchmarsh last night and I'm already gripped by it. Short chapters which is perfect to dip in and out of.

I'm about to finish Sister by Rosamund Lupton and don't know whether I should risk it and borrow a whole bunch of books from the library or wait for them to email me that my reserved books are finally ready (they were on shelves in different branches and ordered almost 2 weeks ago, so I'm hoping it's any minute now). What to do, what to do?
