Hi All,
I saw this a couple of weeks ago with not a clue what it was about. Really glad I did. I won't repeat what has been written before (and far more eloquently than I could manage might I add) but I will say that I loved the movie. I didn't think it would be my thing as I know nothing about American football but I was drawn in, shed a tear and choked on my popcorn with excitement.

It really is a feel good movie with something to say about human kindness and how cynical this world we live in is. If you think you are not going to like it....go anyway...because I bet you do!

Just read that the UK premiere of the Blind Side has been cancelled as Sandra Bullock is unable to attend. Rumour has it that she has found out her husband has been having an affair and she is not attending the premiere because of this.

Most men would say her husband must have a BLINDSIDE to have an affair with someone when they have "steak" at home.

I see they've just cancelled the UK premiere as sandra Bullock has pulled out - at least that's the official reason. I was wondering if the unofficial one was that since there had been so many preview screenings there are not enough people left who've not seen it to fill the cinema at a premiere?! (kidding!!)

Why would they cancel the premiere just because she is not attending? The film runs without her!

They are still going to show the film but no Premiere according to this bulletin.

The UK premiere of 'The Blind Side' has been cancelled after the film's main star, Sandra Bullock, pulled out of the event.
The premiere was due to take place next Tuesday in London’s Odeon West End. However, it has been scrapped as the film’s Oscar-winning star cannot attend, due to “unforeseen circumstances”. She was supposed to appear with her co-star Quinton Aaron.

Her cancellation comes amid rumours that her husband of nearly five years, Jesse James, has been having an 11-month affair with tattoo model Michelle McGee.

'The Blind Side', which landed Bullock her best actress Oscar, will be released on 27 March. A screening of the film will still take place at the Odeon on Tuesday for those with tickets to the premiere.

Bullock’s reported personal troubles have fuelled suggestions of a best actress curse.

Saw this film yesterday and really enjoyed it. Thought it would be a bit soppy for my liking but there were enough laughs for it to stay kind of upbeat. Great film and I absolutely loved the photos of the 'real' family at the end.

This film was fantastic and left us, the audience, buzzing and upbeat at the end :D

So glad to have caught it through fmuk (there were enough previews I guess!)

Sandra Bullock has slowly become one of my few favourite actresses in mainstream Hollywood and before her more sombre roles, that sentiment only stretched to rom-coms. After this film, she's also become very watchable and engaging in a dramatic sense too. Never thought I'd say that after seeing Murder by Numbers - which bored me silly. There's been quite a change in her since those Murder by Numbers days/Speed days.......

Hope there's no substance to the news about her personal life. Wish she could enjoy her moment without the tabloids unleashing one "sensational" story after another. Give the girl a break for a month at least. Jeez :wall:

Talking about the photos of the real life family at the end, did anybody think the dad did quite well out of the casting process compared to what he looked like in real life?! :P
