Re: The Lone Ranger
I think there's a great 90 minute movie in here somewhere, it's a shame it was nearly 2 and a half hours long.
When it was good it was really good, there were some good lines, choreographed fights and escapes and some truly exhilarating action, but it's definitely not perfect...
Butch was a great villain, but I'm sure he would have been just as menacing without all the violence
the sound effects for example when the rangers are attacked were straight out of Saving Private Ryan!
and the fun fair framing device in 1933 was just odd and slowed the film down every time it appeared.
Anyway it's certainly no disaster as I'd read, but you can why it might flop - it certainly feels less family friendly than Pirates, probably because that was supernatural and some of the violence here is very real. Some people clearly disagree though, I saw a young lad being carried out after the film, asleep in his mums arms, who must have been no more than 5 years old!
Overall 7/10

Good film 8/10... For Disney maybe alittle graphic in some parts... Be aware it's nearly 2 and a half hours long so can drag abit worth a watch tho!

i dont like her watching rudie scenes, nakedness or hearing lots of swear words

Too young.
Whilst little violence (other than people being shot...which does not appear to count now), some very extreme violence is clearly implied in the film.
the silhouette of a man having is heart eaten by the baddie is shown as a reflection in the lone ranger's eye
I wouldn't take anyone under 12-14.
ps, no bad language or nudity at all.
pps do you really want to take a 7 yr old to a 2hr 30mins film ? I loved the film, but predict that she may get bored.

This film is definitely not appropriate for 7-year-olds.r33ceh wrote:age suitabilty??? i was pondering on taking my 7 year old girl to this...... is it approriate, she is used to dr who style fight scenes, and watched jack and the giant slayer and wasnt scared.
