Check this out. The attention to detail in the movie is staggering.

I thought there was a bit too much voiceover and race commentary near the start setting up the rivalry and ramping up the excitement in the opening race, but once the film got going after about 15-20 minutes it was excellent.

What an amazing story, so glad I didn't know all the details, and still hard to believe it was all true (maybe they should have borrowed some of Michael Bay's 'This is still a true story' titles!) :D

Hard not to think about Senna, but whereas Prost was almost a pantomine villain in that story here we had two different, brilliant, but flawed characters both who you could root for at different times throughout the film.

Finally, did anyone else think that Hunt and Lauda were basically F1's Kirk and Spock? Instinct vs logic.

9/10 o/

They didn't ask for copies of Heat - but they did ask for ID matching the name on the ticket. Those who didn't have matching ID were asked to wait till everyone was in.

Fantastic film!

great film. i love how balanced it was between the two main characters allowing you to decide, or change, your allegiance as the film progressed. i know nothing about fancy fast cars and i loved this and am going to search for the documentary as even at 2 hours i was left dazzled wanting to know more.
i did quickly google lauda yest and saw pics of him as an elderly gent. i was so happy at that
possibly my film of the year so far.

Myself and the OH caught this at the Glasgow showing last night and we both loved it!

This could so easily have just been another race movie, like 'Days of Thunder' and appealed to the petrolheads exclusively. However, with Ron Howard at the helm and a tremendous true story to work from, this film was simply brilliant.

Hunt and Lauda were both portrayed as very human and flawed characters where it would have been so easy to simply portray them as mere stereotypes; and I was glad that neither man was characterised as the villain of the piece.

This will definitely be one that we'll be adding to our DVD collection when it becomes available!

Thanks for the spoiler, never released how close to the truth it was. Although I was around at the time I had no interest whatsoever in racing. I really enjoyed the film, good story, even better it is based on truth, and the 2 main actors were brilliant. I also thought that Niki's wife was a good likeness, very attractive in real life too.

Would definiitely recommend this film 9/10

Saw this at Vue Statford City.

I had great expectations after seeing the trailer which looked thrilling. So expectations were high and I was fearing a fall. I need not have worried.

I really enjoyed this and it captured a rivalry really well.

Here is my review:-

Watched this at he Camberley screening without any knowledge of the rivalry, what happened at the end or anything! Really loved it, when I got home I decided to watch the BBC documentary on it and it's only then that I realised just how good the film was. The attention to detail is amazing, the characters in the film were exactly like the ones in the documentary. 9/10.

Script is a bit heavy handed in spelling out the differences between the daredevil and the calculating professional but the surprisingly edgy direction catches the chaos and potential for disaster at a race
