Thanks for posting the pics Jayman, looks quite nice. And yes, the people are a bit random!

Interesting comparison to other screens Celini - wonder where Odeon Greenwich IMAX sits on that scale? I have been to that IMAX a number of times but I have to admit it doesn't compare to the BFI IMAX experience, even if they say the IMAX technology is more advanced in Odeon Greenwich.

that'd be interesting indeed, unfortunately I could not find its dimension.
I was also after Odeon Leicester Sq and one of the VueXtreme as a comparison, but could not find either :(

As far as I'm aware only the BFI IMAX does the full 1.43:1 aspect ratio (ie. nearly square).
The rest of them stick to the regular theatrical ratios of 1.85:1 and 2.39:1.

EDIT: Didn't see Ms. Celini's screenshot earlier.

Hope this is OK as my first post here...

The previously posted screen size diagram shows the Empire Leicester Square IMAX size as smaller than it is. It shows the current area used for projection, which is smaller than the screen. When the laser projector is installed (next year?), the full screen will be used. I've posted a new diagram with some other screens added. (Can't find the figure for the Odeon LS height anywhere, but the width is 48ft.)

In response to the question about whether the Empire has space for it--obviously, yes--but only by moving the screen forward to the rear stalls, substantially raising up the ceiling, AFAIK levelling down the floor, and jamming in the biggest possible screen! Future IMAX releases (after Interstellar) will be 1.9:1, and digital only, so there will be no advantage for the additional height of 'classic' IMAX screens...
