R.I.P.D.
This would have worked so much better as a spoof on a cop movie with a supernatural element but the end result is a mess. It is dumb, it is unfunny, it is poorly written, and it is badly acted with Reynolds being rather wooden and Bridges seemed poorly cast. 2/10.

Re: R.I.P.D.
I would give it about a 4/10. Funthing's review is spot on but I'd like to add that the special effects are also downright shoddy. You pretty much know from the opening scene (or the trailer) what level of finesse to expect.
Kevin Bacon was pretty good though.

I wasn't sure for a moment if you were referring to the preceding advert's Kevin Bacon.Jayman wrote:I would give it about a 4/10. Another dull waste of good money. Appalling really.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
Re: R.I.P.D.
V poor. This shamelessly RIP(pe)D off Men in Black (not my gag by the way) but was nowhere near as good.
I didn't expect much as it had flopped in the US and only really saw it for Jeff Bridges, but even he seemed to be trying way too hard and ultimately wasn't particularly funny.
Oh and Kevin Bacon was quite distracting as he looked and was dressed very similar to how he is in the broadband ads he does.
4/10

Re: R.I.P.D.
Went to see this yesterday and although I didn't think it was as bad as the FMUKers above I can't describe it as anything more than an incredibly average movie.
It's a pity as due to the genre & having a pretty decent cast I was actually quite looking forward to watching this but it ended up being a pretty forgettable experience.
That said, time wise it didn't drag & for the most part I was entertained so although I wouldn't go out of my way to see this again I think it did just enough to get a 6/10 from me...

Re: R.I.P.D.
Saw it yesterday in the shoddy Trocodero, hissing speakers, 3D out of line, yet really enjoyed it. Some dull parts, but mostly goofy and fun. It demands little yet is one of the more enjoyable summer blockbusters. A good 7/10.
Re: R.I.P.D.
I was disappointed. This reminded me of a script I read one time at an internship. Slightly similar concept, completely different story. That script was terrible, this was better.

Re: R.I.P.D.
Considering it starred Reynolds and Bridges it could have been a lot better. I was expecting so much more in terms of acting, storyline and visuals. I too felt like it was a poor rip off of MIB and it really did look like Bacon came straight from the EE advert lol Overall it wasn't that bad, even though it had a typical and predictable storyline it was still kind of funny. I'm giving it a 5/10.
Re: R.I.P.D.
Funny story, I didn't get the EE advert before this film. I wonder if they don't do it in front of Kevin Bacon films or if it was just a fluke?
