This is my second attempt at posting - got new router and keep losing my Internet connection.

I thought that I might be in the minority of liking this film. Glad to see that some enjoyed. Yet others won't. I loved it. OH just didn't get it. Think it was too trippy for him. Although, he said he liked certain elements like the animal heads (go figure!). He also said that he found McAvoy great in the lead role. So, he didn't entirely dislike it - more it went over his head when it chopped and changed. Think he was just tired after a hectic day's work. Having had watched it on a non-school day, I'm sure he'd have absorbed it a bit better. It wasn't exactly complicated. I can't wait to compare his reaction to this film to his reaction to Othello on Thursday, and then with Sunshine on Leith on Sunday. Let's just say - we're having a varied cinema week this week. I love to watch all types of film (with the exception of overly slushy romances - yuck!!!)

I remember first seeing McAvoy swagger onto the screen in the 'The Last King of Scotland'. His presence was certainly stamped in that movie, and I feel that he's went from strength to strength ever since. I'm glad to see he's able to get his teeth into different and controversial roles. I really hope that he keeps experimenting, and pushing new boundaries.

Hi there, took my wife to see the film last night. We both went in to the film not knowing much about it so didn't know what to expect. We pretty much both hated it! It did get better as the film went on but if we hadn't have been disturbing people on our row we probably would have walked out 20 minutes in. McAvoy plays an unlike-able character throughout the film, but does play several scenes well where you do start to understand his behaviour. There are also some funny moments. But all in all, too crude and unrelatable for for us to really enjoy it. 1/10

The humour felt dated/very 90s (yes the book was written then, but it felt like this film was delayed too long to work on screen). There were very few laughs from the London audience - other than two women who laughed at words like "spastic" and "wog" - so at least they enjoyed the film.

Have to say that James McAvoy is a great actor and he seemed to really enjoy playing sociopathic Bruce, but unless you enjoy watching a bigoted bully's downward spiral, it's all a bit mindless. 1/5 stars.

With a sensational soundtrack and putrid performance from McAvoy, Filth is far more fun than it should be. Better than the book by far but not a patch on Trainspotting!

Back from Cineworld Glasgow where it was almost full. I enjoyed it. It was kinda of bleak and not much of a story but it was kinda of fun. 7/10
