Going to go swimming on sunday for the first time in months and then start back with some Tiffany on monday (maybe tomorrow if I feel up to it)
Tesco have 2 packs of the nice flavoured ryvita for £2 at the moment too for those like me who enjoy the cardboard!
Alameals well done, you're doing so well keeping that motivation up! Biggins brrrrr, legendary to be swimming outdoors in October!
Diane and Preston need to be keeping me in check! And laughing, that burns calories doesn't it?

Have a great weekend everyone x
Glad that you're feeling better and although I would love to keep you in check I have just popped on the scales (I couldn't get off quick enough) and I too have put on 2 lbs 8O you have had the excuse of being poorly whereas myself   have been feeling perfectly will but along with all my socialising etc I had a chocolate frenzy on Friday :nono: I'm not hormonal/feeling low or anything at all just basically being a lazy lump or/and greedy guts. I too need to be kept in check!!

Got the scales out again for weighing my food so just having a 60gm bowl of branflakes which is about 340 calories with milk.

Let's get the motivation going again as I for one need you all. Please feel free to tell me as it is as I'm not very sensitive so can take it.

Morning all. I didn't need to exercise yesterday, I made 3 runs to the local tip, car packed as can be then hey washed the conservatory, weeded the front garden, fixed the shed and generally sorted the mess that is my house. Safe to say I was more tired than any work out I've done lately. Hopefully have a run today once I've finished off sawing up an old couch as it won't fit in the car lol. This week I expect my diet to a bit less strict, celebrating my birthday and my son's so cake and goodies but I'll continue to exercise and hope I'll have no weight gains, I doubt it though

No weight lost this week but no gain either! Like almost everyone I have the sniffles and sneezing so not in the mood for doing much exercising. Working full time all next week so no time for swimming but the work involves a lot of walking round the building checking on things every hour so hopefully that should use up some calories. :cross:

Thanks for letting me know about the Ryvita in Tesco Moggers will have to get some as I like the cardboard too! ;)

Swimming outdoors is not a problem for me as the pool is heated to body temperature so once you have swam a length it is fine. It is coming out of the water and crossing the path to get inside the main building that is the cold part. I swim all year round in it except when there is ice on the top of it and so they close it. When earlier this year I was in Gran Canaria swimming in the unheated outdoor pool it took your breathe away it was so cold as the sun never seemed to heat it even late in the afternoon.

Just had a bacon roll and cup of tea. Yoghurt and another cup of tea later and main meal tonight is sirloin steak with baked potato and salad. (And a glass of red medicine ;) )

Have a good day everybody. o/

I think it was only online Biggins, went to our local Tesco and it wasn't on offer (not inusual as our local Tesco is completely rubbish)
Swimming with the kids today, just as well as if I was staying in the house today my husband would probably end up with a major injury caused by me hrmph.

Let's get the motivation going again as I for one need you all. Please feel free to tell me as it is as I'm not very sensitive so can take it.

Good Morning everyone :D

Pleased to hear that you are over the illness Moggers! and that Alameals' knee issue is not too serious. John Milton - well done on going ten rounds with the heavy bag......there's got to be a joke in there somewhere, but I daren't make it! 8O
Well Done on maintaining the weight Biggins and on the swimming too. o/

I see that there are quite a few of us (myself included) that seem to be struggling a little with our weight-loss/fitness progress at the moment. Some of us even appear to be putting out calls for group motivation talks  So here goes :P

Hey, Relax people - I feel certain that with the legendary FMUK WW collective support and encouragement teamed with a little bit of self-control we will all continue to make good overall progress. o/

I too have snuck a pound on since last Wednesday, but there are several days to go before my next weigh-day, so I'm determined to shift not only that one pound, but another couple as well if at all possible. o/

The good thing about this forum is that we are a bunch of like minded people with a common aim and a large collective knowledge of how to go about the weight loss game. It's not so much that we don't know what to do, but sometimes we give in to our temptations. That's just human nature - if we do lapse we should just accept it, but be sure to start being good again.

There's only one basic way to lose weight - "Eat Less - Exercise More" - Simple! We don't need a NASA scientist to tell us that! But sometimes it's a good idea to just remind ourselves of a few things that will ease our progress.......

I personally think that it's really good to set a specific target for yourself rather than just think "I'd like to lose some weight" - I base my target on the BMI thing - I want to get down to a BMI of 25 (which is seen as the top end of normal) - If I can do that I won't just be happy - I'll be ecstatic o/ I'll be organising street parties...... with cake and everything :shifty:

I'm aiming for between a one pound to two pound weight loss every week, but I'm conscious that the "early" pounds are easier to lose than the later ones. I love making graphs, spreadsheets and charts of planned vs actual progress - it's geeky I know but for me it's a great visual incentive to keep on going especially when the going gets tough.

Other things........

1. Drink more water - it's calorie free and fills you up so you wont want to eat as much food.

2. Eat as many different vegetables as you can.

3. Cut down on some of the stuff that you know is not good for you - sugar. fat (esp saturated fat), high carb stuff, etc

4. Try and eat smaller portions but have them more often.

5. Don't deny yourself the ocassional treat if you fancy it - if you do, you won't live any longer but it will certainly feel like it. 8O

6. Don't sit around feeling hungry and thinking about food, get yourself involved with something to take your mind off yourself. Go for a walk, run , cycle, swim, garden, decorate, have a walk around the shops etc.

Sorry if that all sounds pretentious and pious nonsense and teaching granny to suck eggs - i'm not putting myself forward as an expert dieting know-it all honestly, I'm just trying to chip in with a few things that have helped me both this year and last year.

Also, check this out http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/15-b ... -tips-ever o/

Feel free to chip in with some of your own favourites everyone - I for one would love to hear them. o/

Keep posting everyone and lets see those daily menus reappearing once again. o/

Looking forward to the party especially with the cake o/

Thank you for the motivational talk just what we all needed. I've had homemade carrot and coriander soup for lunch and although not done any exercise as such I have been on the roof 4 times today (having a new roof and I'm nosey so was looking at what they were doing - they did ask me to have a look plus took the opportunity while the scaffolding is up to paint the apex) so I'm sure that counts as exercise  I have had a snack like dinner as DD came home for the weekend and we were running out of time before her train back so had a selection of vegetable samosas, bhajis, plus chicken tikka and raita plus a large green salad so calorie wise it is ok.

Now I'm getting worried about you Diane, thinking that you have to go up onto your roof 4 times in order to fulfill your weight loss regime. I do hope you are being careful and not doing any exercises whilst up there. I won't mention your posting about the lovely looking cake and tea shop that you mentioned on the FMUKcon thread. Sounds pretty terrific and as we went to Harrogate recently and enjoyed lots of proper teas we think this Northern tradition is a very fine one.
