Everything was very good, but I still did not like it very much. Not my kind of movie.
7/10

(How much do we think the rescue mission costed? More than the claimed ransom, right?)

:( Gutted I had to cancel tonight due to work. I was looking forward to seeing Tom Hanks in action.

Are you advocating that the rescue mission shouldn't have taken place? The ship's owners would have Insurance and may well have to have reimbursed the Navy etc

No, I am not. I was rather bored during the film and that got me thinking ;)

Aha, are you advocating a privately funded moneysaving rescue mission with the ransom money?

I was gripped throughout. I think I bit a hole in my lip, I was so immersed in what was happening.

Off to research it now because the only thing we never heard about was the Ship's owners and their reaction.

Were you there?

I was with jeanelle and don't think we saw you!
(I don't actually know what you look like but I believe jeanelle does)

Thought this was great. Didn't drag for me at all, and didn't know the story other than the basics. Was 2009 the year this actually took place? Tom Hanks, as usual, was wonderful. Very glad I went, was going to wait til Monday but Fulham was a pretty good cinema as well. Aside from some chatty cathys and some lights staying up. I just don't get it.

That was the most uncomfortable viewing experience I have had in a long time. We arrived quite late at the O2 and only found seats in the third frow from the front. I actually still feel nauseous from having to look up from that close angle to a shaky cam all the time. It took me a while to sort of adjust to it and I admit that my eyes stayed closex a lot during the first half. Also, we had some dickheads in our row who kept readjusting themselves and shaking my seat, which really didn't help my sea-sickness.

Consequently I didn't enjoy the film very much and thought it was way too drawn out. Can only give it a 6/10 and have no desire to see this again.

I still feel ill.

When I first saw the film title I expected it could have been about Captain (Mark) Phillips!

Thank Goodness it wasn't.

Could you imagine watching this?
