DD is on a very long journey on the train from Manchester to Northampton and all the boards are down plus she was waiting forever in Stoke for her delayed connection. Can't wait to get the text saying she's in her halls.
Thank goodness she is back now. Took 4 hours and that's before the true storms have arrived.
Keep safe everyone.
Glad she's home safe, Diane.

Very relieved to hear Diane65's daughter is safely back in Northampton. Rest easy now!

My TOCs had already cancelled services until after 9 am today by late afternoon yesterday. It's good to be prepared, but how are people supposed to get to work? Plus, although it's wet and windy out, it doesn't seem too bad here at present. And to think that yesterday I walked to no fewer than 3 stations in an attempt to b*y a ticket for this morning. Yesterday the ticket offices weren't even open by 7 or 8 am and they never open early enough on a weekday either, but I can't use a ticket machine as it doesn't include my railcard - grr!

Hope everyone else is safe and able to get out and about if necessary.

Yeah it's confirmed now that my trains aren't running until at least 9am either, I'm going to make such a "great" impression at work today considering it's my first day back after my holiday...

I'm sure other people will be in same boat CT.

Even oh is not going in for a few hours! Unheard of for him. He normally lives in the office.
