Only problem with this Bluesfest is getting home afterwards....I got back at 4am... and woke up at noon....
That's why I didn't go for any tickets! I can't afford taxis, and couldn't work out how on earth to get home. Boo hiss! I wish I was a bit braver, as a friend went and said it was superb.

Whilst it was excellent and unusual with its timing, and makes a great one off, it was also brief for a full blown ticket price - its the price of a whole day at a festival - and I cannot fathom someone p*ying the full whack for this kind of show (nodisrespect to Bobby who was remarkable).

Nor do I get why they are staging these concerts consecutively and yet so late, a series of these nights would probably kill us and wont do performers of Womacks age any good either.

Great to see Robert Plant last night at the Bluesfest, the setlist could have been better but still we got some Led Zep classics like the opener Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You, the magical Going to California, What Is and What Should Never Be and the inevitable Whole Lotta Love, all sounding pretty good. Of the ones I didn't know, Fixin' to Die is the one that sticks out. A little frustrating when the band go off into long instrumental jams/world music detours, and the encore version of Rock and Roll was a bit weak but as we'll never get to see Led Zeppelin again, this it the next best thing, and to spend an evening in the presence of a genuine rock legend was a pleasure indeed! 8/10

The daytime stroller tickets at Bluesfest 2013 at the Royal Albert Hall were brilliant value for those able to attend during the afternoons. Each ticket also included a 30 minute Bluesfest themed tour of the RAH which you had to book a time slot on the day. Some of the rooms were a little small due to the number of people but the music was top notch. Surprised more families did not make use of it as children got free entry with p*ying adults. Tickets were £10. Bands included World Party, Dr Feelgood, Ray Gelato and his band, and Huey Morgan and his band.

yeah I will probably b*y some of those bluesfest tickets next year through the ISH channels, great value.

Beautiful South tonight were pretty much themselves. Though the Islington Academy is a crummy little venue, the South's songs easily make up for that, pure quality, and they played for just over an hour and a half so it came in spades.

I have just realized that I have spent over £200 on concerts 8O 8O 8O
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

But is that your total for the year so far? As if so, it's minuscule compared to my spending on theatre, and I do always aim for the best deals... all my expenses are on a spreadsheet this year (created for me by OH), but looking at the summary sheet is scary!

Glad you enjoyed it. I always thought they had clever lyrics and memorable melodies, and I would like to see them live one day. We were freezing our fingers off at the fireworks display instead!
