All's well that ends well! We had a power cut today in our building (the second one this year!) and for a few panicky minutes this morning I thought Christmas would be cancelled this year. Everything runs on electricity so you can't even make a cup of tea to release the stress! Luckily we had plenty of battery on the mobile so we called the electricity board and everything was back on by 1pm.

I had almost forgotten this thread existed.
So what do we all think of the new Christmas adverts? I must admit the M&S one is totally getting on my nerves already and the John Lewis one isn't much better. The one advert I always hum along to right now is the AXA Home Insurance one and that's not even anything to do with Christmas. But the song is great.

I can't wait for Christmas this year. Not because I love it so much but because it means a proper 12 day rest. Unfortunately the Day Centre will be closed between Christmas and New Year too so I have to look after OH, but we might just cocoon with a lot of food and telly. I can cope with that.

First post I read on opening was you cooking your lamb from last year and it did make me chuckle.
As for adverts, I quite like John Lewis, although I am sure will be sick of it in a few weeks, its on all the time, I hate the Tesco ads, none of the others are proving that memorable.

Rainey: all my hubby's family's presents are wrapped up and OH is taking them on Sunday. Bloody good job too, as my FIL and MIL's pressie is huge and weighs more than me!
