Saw Queens of the Stone age last Friday at Wembley Arena! They have been on my bands to see list for absolutely ages ....really enjoyed it and loved the setlist. I thought it was a perfect mix of old and new material :D Also Josh Homme's voice was on form! Wish they played in a better venue though...I am not a fan of Wembley Arena

Saw Imagine Dragons a few days ago at the O2 in Brixton, still buzzing from it! The place was absolutely ramming! Evening standards review is very brief but still worth a read :

I have been to three gigs this week, at my local music venue (Wedgewood Rooms)

Monday: Har Mar Superstar (supported by Lizzo) - Fantastic show to start the week, treated to a 30min rap set (similar to Azelia Banks, which is completely different to the soulful voice of Har Mar), she had so much confidence on stage and the sparse crowd loved her. Onto the main event Har Mar, this guy is truly one of the greatest performers ever, always puts on a great show (if a bit strange), he was in the crowd for some of his set, parading around like a mad man. At one point in the set he snogged a random girl because it was her birthday. He was also half naked (apparently a tradition) and I wouldn't say that he is good looking (looks like Ron Jeremy). I can't really describe the gig, because you will of have to of been there but great night all round. If you do not know who he is, search him on you tube you will not be dissapointed (also search Batches and Cookies by Lizzo, because I can tell she is going to be massive).

Tuesday: The Heavy (supported by The Computers). The Computers were fantastic, I love the 50's style sound. For those that don't know they are a rock and roll band (previously a hardcore punk band). They thoroughly entertained the crowd and were very energetic on stage. They was a lot of anticipation for The Heavy and they did not dissapoint. They opened with one of there most famous songs, 'Short Change Hero' and the crowd went mad, they then played another famous song 'Sixteen' and continued to play some more old songs, they then moved into some new songs from there new album (What Makes a Good Man, Can't Play Dead, Big Bad Wolf etc). They (after around 1 hour), came back for an encore, playing some old and new songs finishing on there most famous song 'How you like me now'

The Third gig (Wednesday): Foy Vance (Supported by Rams Pocket Radio) - Another fantastic support, Rams Pocket Radio, was one guy and a keyboard (sounded very similar to James Blake, but had a better voice), he played he songs very well and made a great impression on the crowd, we be seeing him again hopefully (can see him going big). Onto the main act now and he was fantastic, he plays mostly new songs with the odd song from his other album (he also did a cover of walk on the wild song and locked out of heaven, but only the choruses). He left his most famous song (Guiding Light) to last where he got the whole crowd singing along and he told everyone to sing when he had left the stage and that's what everyone did. They were singing for a few minutes even when Foy Vance had left the stage ( I think he did this song with Ed Sheeran).
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

Another Foy Vance fan here - tonight in Dundee was special as always, even the Bruno Mars singalong. Keep exprecting he's going to disappoint one of these days, but every one's been a winner so far.

For anyone that cares, it's been 3 for 3 with my recent gig going. Ane Brun was awesome and Jason Isbell proved that King Tuts can do little wrong.

On this saddest of days for Glasgow, music can heal indeed.

I went to see Jungle Fire @ 229 The Venue last night. An amazing LA Afro/Latin funk band. They are currently on a UK tour. Definitely try and see them if you like that sort of music; or go anyway and get your groove on! Seriously, their music will get your feet tapping and your head nodding away if it doesn't end up making you wanna dance! A very talented band indeed.

Saw Bullet for my Valentine, Asking Alexandria and Young Guns last week at the Hydro in Glasgow. Absolutely fantastic. First two bands were really really good - but Bullet blew the roof off! Already on next years 'must see' list if they tour again!

No more gigs booked until February, which is not very good at all - but then I've a Day to Remember, followed by Memphis May Fire, followed by Of Mice and Men! Then the Wickerman Festival in summer........cannot wait!!

Just seen Lucy Wainwright Roche (who kindly signed our CD) and Neko Case in Brighton. Both were magnificent especially the latter. So pleased I heard her play Star Witness. A delightful evening.

I hope the Glass Spider Band was better than the original tour they were celebrating. I saw Bowie on that tour, it was a big disappointment. It was misconceived.
