Bounty Hunter

#1 Post by alythonian » Wed Mar 17, 2010 7:36 pm

A bounty hunter learns that his next target is his ex-wife, a reporter working on a murder cover-up. Soon after their reunion, the always-at-odds duo find themselves on a run-for-their-lives adventure, Stars Jennifer Aniston & Gerard Butler.

I saw this this afternoon. It opens on Friday, I believe.

It's a comedy come romance come action film. It's all pretty unbelievable but quite entertaining in a non brain-taxing manner. Gerard Butler's accent is weird but his accent was weird hen he was interviewed about the film on BBC Breakfast yesterday. A sort of Sheena Easton mid Atlatic twang (what is it with Scottish people and accents - as a Scot I allow myself to say that!).

It's pretty gender non specific so open to all to see. It's not going to win any awards but it was good fun overall.

6.5/10 from me.

This is a relief as I was planning to go to an early preview today; then I read the "Time Out" review (none on IMDB yet) and they had only given it one star (on a scale of five), so I was thinking "S..t! Can't go to that now - what else can I fit in before my matinee?" But if I were also to rate it 6.5/10, it would just scrape into my "worth seeing" category, so I think I can risk sticking to my original plan. It's either going to be cheap or free anyway, so little to lose.

Edit: re-checked IMDB and found 3 reviews had appeared since I last looked. Hmm....

i was dubious too but reckoned for nothing I had nothing to loose. It's not the best film but it's not the worst. i enjoyed it more than Marley & me and more than I love you Philip Morris from last week. It is complete nonsence but as long as you go into it not wanting to tax your brain...

I really didn't think it was nearly as bad as the reviews made out.]

Watched it on Orange Wednesday.... It seemed endless!!! (I knew beforehand that it was supposed to be less than 2 hours, but it seemed MUCH longer than that...) How they managed to get it that bad inspite of good actors and more or less funny story?! I didn't read the reviews beforehand but now I wish I did... Total waste of time, money and petrol(to get there). Even Whip it was better!

It's a very average movie with a paint by numbers plot.
