Re: FMUKCON Manchester - 2014
Hi Everyone the cheap train fares will be released in 4 weeks for the FMUKCON so start thinking about what train times will be most suitable so that you can be at the ready to get a good deal.
It is the same train timetables in April as it is now, I know that a few have changed in December but will stay the same in April (Oh no I have become a train spotter
or should I say that I'm more of an interesting type of person being a railway enthusiast
).
11th January is the date to start booking.
Yogi please can you find some more redspottedhanky deals?

Redspottedhanky £9.50 codes are available with Sun Perks when you sign up for one months £1 trial (It says this week only so no idea when the week started or ends but do it asap) plus if you use 2 separate accounts both in SunPerks and Redspottedhanky you will get 2 lots of £9.50 (1 for each way) so a massive saving on your trip to Manchester. Thanks to r33ceh for this

Do you have any idea of the timetable for the festivities so we have something to aim for?Diane65 wrote:Hi Everyone the cheap train fares will be released in 4 weeks for the FMUKCON so start thinking about what train times will be most suitable so that you can be at the ready to get a good deal.It is the same train timetables in April as it is now, I know that a few have changed in December but will stay the same in April (Oh no I have become a train spotter

Re: FMUKCON Manchester - 2014
I imagine that the meet up will be between 1pm and 4pm at the place (yogi and Steve are sorting out the venue) but myself, steve and akh43 are free for the entire weekend so available for sightseeing tours, entertainment or whatever you like etc from as early as you like. Betty Botter and Yogi are available for most of the Saturday. r33ceh should be available for quite a bit if the weekend and they are all good fun. Just let us know what you're in to be it culture, shopping, night life or anything in particular you would like to see or do and we'll get it organised. I'll come up with lots of ideas but please be totally honest if it sounds dire as it is your day or if you want to do your own thing with just suggestions of places to go and how to get there.jeanelle wrote:Do you have any idea of the timetable for the festivities so we have something to aim for?Diane65 wrote:Hi Everyone the cheap train fares will be released in 4 weeks for the FMUKCON so start thinking about what train times will be most suitable so that you can be at the ready to get a good deal.It is the same train timetables in April as it is now, I know that a few have changed in December but will stay the same in April (Oh no I have become a train spotter

Re: FMUKCON Manchester - 2014
This was our itinerary for on the last Manchester meet up (it was akh43, steve, yogi, Andrews, Jordsmum and myself before we got to know so many of you - I can't believe that I didn't know Betty Botter and r33ceh then as we are all such good friends) but I did get a few complaints as I didn't allow any toilet stops
It can be as busy or as relaxed as you all like and we will come and greet you all at the station.
Manchester City Centre

http://www.manchestercathedral.org/a-go ... hat-to-see
http://www.manchestergalleries.org/
Afternoon tea at Manchester Town Hall http://cms.manchester.gov.uk/download/1 ... urday_menu
We may need to book this if there are a few of us and would give us all a chance to have a good natter
http://www.craftanddesign.com/
http://www.theprintworks.com/the_place/ (just for a walk through or poss lunch)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinatown,_Manchester (to stroll through on the way to Oxford Street station).
Salford Quays (a 10 minute metro ride)
http://www.thelowry.com/

But there is so much more to see eg the Velodrome, Manchester United's ground and not sure if that other Manchester team (not very good I believe) have trips around their ground, The Trafford Centre or if you any of you staying for the weekend I'm happy to drive somewhere a bit further out so have 4 seats available in my car plus I'll have a look into the night life and see if there are any good deals on the theatre, possible events at Media City and maybe even a Sunday morning screening, the gay village is nice and safe for an evening out, maybe a cocktail (or 2 if you are feeling flush) at Cloud23 at the Hilton which is a lovely experience, not sure on the club scene but I can find out (do any of the Manchester FMUKers know anything about the club scene please add on to this as I haven't got a clue).
