"hate resting" Diane?
It's spelt with a "w" and "l" and remember I've seen the photos. Sorry folks a bit of an in joke. Please don't think me rude.
He is rude so don't think of him as not so :giggle: See the gentleman facade has slipped and the true you is evident to see ;)

By the end of the year I was taken off insulin as 'luckily' my body had somehow recovered and started producing insulin again :) :) :) I don't know if my weight loss, change in diet and exercise regime helped but all the specialists seemed pretty amazed with my results. I feel so much better but still have to get to 13 1/2 st from around 14 1/2 st at present....
Thanks for that it is only when I skip meals that it happens or do too much exercise. Did you do the specialist programme that reverts to none diabetic if done within the first few months of being diagnosed? I've only heard it being done with type 2 and if not patent how you did it as you could make a fortune and I'm so impressed o/

Wow Mr G, awesome work outs. I have stretch bands, different strengths, to use as needed.
Have to make a schedule to make sure I do them as instructed. Time does tend to drift by if I don't have a routine.

My babysitting stint will end at about 5 today and then I have time for my own life.
p.s. Yes, I could hear the sniffing  Do I incorporate this too

Only joking

Wow, well done for defying the medic professionals by adopting a healthier lifestyle and exercising regimes and losing the body fat. What a success story you are and continuing to be. o/ o/

Sniffing is optional :P Yeah, scheduling is key. I always schedule my workouts because if you dont, as you say, they dont get done.
And great stuff, having those variety stretchbands. Thats as good as a portable gym you have there, you can take them with you everywhere.

My schedule this week:

Today: 8km run to Marshall Street Leisure Centre, lower body workout then Cinema as my reward (will see Lone Survivor)
Tomorrow: Abs, just that but another cinema reward (Will see Peabody and Sherman)
Sunday: Cricket (1hr indoor practice) then cinema reward (will see Armstrong Lie)
Monday: 8km run to Marshall Street Leisure Centre, upper body resistance, cross trainer cardio then cinema reward (will see Dallas Buyers Club)
Tuesday : Squash

I lost my last 3 games of squash because I lost my fitness over the previous months. Cant win games if I'm not at my fittest because my shots lose accuracy and thats due to tiredness. Its all well being the "oldest" player in the top three leagues but I dont wanna be the oldest player, I want to be the BEST player! So I have to work very hard getting my fitness back and losing some of the body fat I gained.

Been a tough couple of weeks with family and work pressures (little time to workout) but hoping to have lost a bit tomorrow morning at the weekly weigh in :cross:

Its always a bit of a challenge to stick to routines with so much distractions (albeit necessary distractions)...so well done for putting up a fight to squeeze in what you can! Good luck with weigh in. I met you once at an fmuk gathering, you looked in good shape so good stuff in trying to better yourself, there's never an end to that.

How impressive is that and nice to hear your news MrG. I admire the fact that you run 8km to the Leisure Centre when I see local people actually driving to the gym/leisure centre which is virtually round the
corner! Makes a mockery out of keeping fit to my mind. Shall always remember walking out of the cinema with you and you running off towards Piccadilly for the long run home to south London.

And very well done to the rest of you illustrious weight watchers here. Seems in spite of injuries, babysitting duties etc you are all full of good advice and encouragement. Always a good read even if I don't indulge in as much exercise and fitness as the rest of the team.

Well might not have been the best with food this week but I did go to the gym and walked. Small steps back!
As for bananas, yip brilliant unless you have any kidney issues then not so good as potassium and phospherous are bad for kidney function. Poor DH has had to re-think a lot of his diet after a blood test result last week.

Hope things are starting to settle down RickyRaj and good luck with the weigh in o/

MrGlass you are so right re scheduling in exercise as I haven't done any for ages - I know that I had hurt my back but it has been fine all week but due to work I haven't had time :nono: I have no excuse as such as Baty has a serious injury and is still managing to find a way to do it. I have 4 weeks until I go away so really really do need to get my act together. I have worked over 50 hours this week and still working tomorrow morning so that's my excuse for rubbish diet and lack of exercise   Need to prepare some healthy meals so that I always have something to hand plus allow myself at least a 30 minute break at lunch and dinner and schedule in some exercise.

You are all so inspirational and I love reading what you've all been up to :D

Well done with the Gym o/ Hope DH is OK and it must be so difficult when you have to watch your diet due to heath issues. A lot of people on this thread have health issues for which they have all managed to adapt their diets and still lose weight - I really have no excuse at all.

Aww your encouragement is always Gold. Thanks EJ, it really helps us maintain that drive.

Yeah, I remember I use to (rather embarrassingly) run to the cinema in the earlier days, changing my t shirt in the gents when I arrive but still not a very convincing sweat free appearance and smell! That wasn't really a good idea! So instead I run from cinema to home (as you witnessed) and so can get a good shower, or run to a gym next to the cinema (I have a London wide network access membership to gyms, so I do this more often now) and then watch the film afterwards feeling fresh.

Today, I ended up watching the movie first then went into the gym afterwards. The film I watched was Lone Survivor, a gritty reality based war film....and now I feel very military and I have an urge to get military on someone...aha...

DIANE....So when we all meet up in April, you thinking of covering up with a long coat, huh? I dont think so! That's not the way to think and you know it :) You are going to flaunt the 5 lbs that you will lose in 9 weeks time. That was your special rate you've been doing all the time and you will do it again :) So get down with the veggies and do those exercise...10-15 mins...thats all they take, 10-15mins...maybe sniff along with Nicole?!. The more intense you do them, the shorter your workouts can be. Higher intensity in short bursts loses more body fat than lengthy workouts at lower intensity. So lets see your schedule :) no excuses. As Baty demonstrated, there are always way round obstacles. And you know it because you've been setting that magnificent example for the past few years as Queen of this thread and I'd love to see you continue that example.

Ok was that harsh? I'm blaming it on the blasted military film I saw today but everyone is a good cop here so I might as well do the bad cop routine :) SO everyone, work around your obstacles, illnesses, injuries, workloads, there is always a way around to achieving your desires. It might look hard at first but when you get in groove, you wont want to stop because you will already be feeling the benefits of just a week worth of healthy eating and exercises. You will just feel good about yourself and its the most rewarding feeling than anything else. And for those of you that have children to bring up, heavy workloads...doing exercises actually improves your mindset. It gives you clarity and focus in your work. You feel sharper, more confident in everything you do. And your children benefits from your you feeling good about yourself. I've being through that transition (though not with children, I dont have any of those cute and sometimes annoying critters) and so I really like to see everyone here feel good about themselves, especially when overcoming life's big obstacles.

Tomorrow, I'll do a short abs work but generally have a rest day and eat what I like as my comfort day...in moderation.
